The MSM has a NEW BONE TO CHEW... Hillary Clinton set a standard for stellar qualifications and experience for females presidential candidates (and the VP is a heartbeat away from the presidency). GOP meme "Obama the Risk" has been TRUMPED by this huge McCain gamble.

Just watch the Repubs TRY to defend his judgment and HER QUALIFICATIONS at their convention next week... there is a hell of a lot of speech changing going on now... the Repubs had better take the "experience" argument off the table.

Apparently, as I'm reading about Sarah Palin, she's as right wing as you can get. Plus, less than 2 years governmental experience? This is the person who's a heartbeat away from the Presidency?

Of course, after riding around in a golf cart with Bush, Sr., McCain would pick Sarah Palin, a former Miss Alaska contestant, and the female equivalent of Dan Quayle, to add some youth and eye candy to the ticket ala' Dan (He Looks Like Redford) Quayle. I am thinking that John McCain's recent meetings with George Bush, Sr., are going to lead to a Bush, Sr. like choice for VP, Sarah Palin, a former Miss Alaska contest Miss Congeniality with modest academic credentials, but who has a very strong athletic background. Also, since her husband works for the oil industry, the Texas GOP may give its blessing.

Like Dan Quayle, she is not an academic super star.

Like Dan Quayle, she had success as a high school athlete.

Like Dan Quayle, she is very conservative, pro-gun, and very pro-life.

Like Dan Quayle, she achieved early political success.

Like Dan Quayle, she is a relative unknown nationally.

Like Dan Quayle, she is youthful and good looking.

Like Dan Quayle, she will be added to an elder Presidential ticket in order to add some youth, charisma and visual appeal.

So, I am predicting that John McCain pulls a George Bush, Sr., and picks a female version of Dan Quayle. This may not be a bad idea, since George Bush, Sr. did win his first presidential contest with Quayle as a running mate.

I got the argument during the primaries that Obama had no experience. I cant wait to knock on doors again and combat their argument with the Old/Tart 08 ticket

Would say this is the worst possible pick imaginable. But never underestimate the stupidity of the American electorate. I'm actually sad this woman has the potential of being the president, if situations prevail.

As long as Democrats can contain themselves from making sex-based attacks on Palin.

I just got onto DU 10 minutes ago and haven't caught up with what people are saying, but this woman is not someone I would feel comfortable being President. And with McCain's age, his VP pick needs to be seriously considered as a potential POTUS.

This pick only benefits us. And I can't wait to see Biden rip her to shreds in the VP debate! :)

I'm happier than I've been since, well, last night. You're right, there is no experience argument. They've insulted women by basically saying any woman is good enough. She's under investigation. No one has heard of her outside of Alaska (with its three electoral votes).
She has NO FOREIGN POLICY EXPERIENCE, and she is a heartbeat away from the presidency (if McSame wins).

It's not worrying to anticipate your opponent's strategy and plan your responses accordingly.
