Stop Laughing and GET BUSY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the phrase that matters: "Yup, Sarah Palin is hot/ young/ conservative/ incredible (whatever)... BUT I STILL DON'T WANT ***McCAIN*** FOR PRESIDENT!!!

As far as I can see, McCain just stole the headlines with his VP pick. NOBODY is discussing Obama's speech anymore. Everyone over here is so busy dismissing the situation, that we're losing focus. Sarah Palin is an amazing, and EXCELLENT choice.

IF McCain doesn't die in the next 4 years, he is offering his party a young, attractive/photogenic, evangelical Christian, pro-life, pro-gun, history-making president who will have been "seasoned" by 4-8 years as VP and "ready to lead!!!"

She does NOT have to be experienced today. Right now, she can just sit back and LEARN. Obama picked a mentor, McCain picked a protege.

The media is going to EAT THIS UP!!!!!!!!!!! For 2 months, we're going to be buried in Ladies Home Journal "fluff" articles that keep Sarah Palin on the cover, just as the Obamas have been for the last 12 months. Her "gut-wrenching" story about choosing to give birth to a "perfect" Downs Syndrome baby is going to play well with Cindy McCain who adopted a Bengali girl with a cleft palette. They will probably end up good friends.

Palin has just bumped the Democrats out of the headlines so fast that THE ISSUES will CEASE TO MATTER!!!!!!!!! Think about Jon Benet on the front page of the National Enquirer, month after month...

Sorry. This is going to work unless we think fast and furiously about a counterstrategy. We are so busy laughing that we THINK we can beat this based on the issues.

NO WE CAN'T!!!! Right this moment, the race is no longer about issues. It's about being photogenic and historic.

In your hearts, you know that a gun-toting, wolf-killing, pro-life evangelical Christian is probably NOT the woman you want in office for 8 years. (She will NOT die in office!) But there are enough people who are okay with it, and enough men who will put up with it, that it will have to be redirected.

So... she's a headline grabber and all that... but I STILL DON'T WANT ***McCAIN*** TO BE PRESIDENT!!!!!

If they want the spotlight, let them have it. But if this is going to "backfire", then we have to be unspinning it as fast as they spin it.

This is NOT a mistake. Quit laughing and get busy.

5. Politics is NEVER about issues. At least not up front. It's symbols & narratives. Her husband
might provide an avenue of attack.

7. If Hillary were our nominee it would not be so
We'd be hearing how dangerous it was to run a woman.

Now when it's the repukes, it's an advantage? LMAO. You know damn well if Hillary were our nominee it would be hand wringing in the media every day about whether we really are "ready for a woman president."

10. True... but she's not.
And now is NOT the time to go there.

You've been around long enough to know about the double standards that exist between our two parties.

The Democratic poster child for a woman president is a politically seasoned, progressive feminist.

The Republican poster child for a woman president is a PARADOX. An attractive woman who has chosen to get into politics to stand up for anti-feminism.

Don't scoff. Just get busy.

8. It doesn't matter Obama picked up a shitload of voters last night...
that, I am confident of. In my personal circle of friends, I have already had 4 call me today to tell me they would be voting for him, when previously, they swore they never would.

Obama has got this thing. The economy is imploding so bad.. by November Karl Rove won't even be able to get a dog catcher elected. Plus, people are tired of war. They don't want this Georgia War that Cheney is off in Europe promoting.
