He'd Met Her Once!
Edited on Fri Aug-29-08 06:31 PM by nsd
Sullivan

John McCain first met Palin in February of this year and had a telephone conversation with her. That is the full extent of his familiarity with Palin until he spent time with her last week. That's how seriously he is taking the presidency of the United States. It's simply unbelievable recklessness. It's Bush-level recklessness.

Putting country first? This is a reckless act of egotism and politics. The more you think about it, and the more you consider how many charges he has leveled against Obama's alleged inexperience in a time of peril, the more outrageous it is that he picks an unknown local politician he has only met once before to be a heartbeat away from the presidency.

Palin isn't the issue here. McCain's judgment is. It's completely off the wall. Is there something wrong with him?

15. Sure He Is
and it looks like a perfect Rovian tactic to me. The question is, are Americans that stupid? And before you answer, consider the last election. All they need to do is be close enough to steal it.

3. In other words
McCain really had no say in the decision...
the decision was made for him.

The question is... by whom?

6. Personally, I figured that McCain flew from DC to Juneau several times
Seems like the flights would give him enough time for his afternoon "nap."

10. Agree - This Is Totally A Poll Driven Knee Jerk Pick
I mean can you imagine putting McCain on the spot by questioning him regarding his knowledge on her views on creationism and global warming? McCain barely knows her. One freakin meeting?

Let me put it this way. Even if Palin was super smart and qualified, shouldn't have McCain at least get to know her better to see if he could work with her as a #2. Shoot, I put more effort into interviewing people for a clerical position, then McCain did for the #2 spot. I mean did he seriously delegate the selection to someone else?

13. I was just saying this to my best friend ...
I'm sure, on some level, Palin is a nice person. Perhaps power hungry, but she seems .... nice.

However, nice does not a good VP, or especially, Prez make.

If he can make this decision so seemingly arbitrarily --- what will he do with Iran? Iraq? Pakistan? North Korea?

What will he do if the economy tanks further? If their are lines for bread? If our homeless shelters not only overflow, but explode?

His judgment is scary me. And should scare others as well.
