Let us not forget during our discussion of Gov. Palin
Edited on Fri Aug-29-08 06:47 PM by PCIntern
we need to discuss the impulsive, bad judgment of McCain. the fact of the matter is that he only met her once, it's like getting married after the first date. But why should we be surprised - his WIFE adopted a baby overseas, showed up at the airport, and told her HUSBAND: this is your new child. What couple do you know where this would be the modus operandi for something this important? None, I'm sure.

Here's a guy who has no capacity for editing: he called his wife a c--t in the presence of others, he has screamed obscenities at members of his own party as well as others, he told an outrageous joke about Chelsea Clinton in public and laughed. He's got a psychiatric problem the same way Bush Jr. has substance abuse and personality disorders, and the way Reagan had early Alzheimer's when he was elected the FIRST time. Americans refuse to make definitive diagnoses because they think that this type of action is like a guilty verdict: beyond a reasonable doubt is necessary. Well, it isn't necessary and we may make this terrible error yet again.

Assuming that McCain made the decision to bring her in, and that he's not under someone's control - possibly a poor assumption - he is obviously prone to stab in the dark - spray and pray as the military call it - and he hopes everything's going to be all right.

I wouldn't be my future on it, that's for certain.

1. Palin is the discussion now
There has never in the history of this country been a worse pick by either party for a VP pick. The woman is about as qualified for VP as the local PTA president that ran for city council. In fact, city council reps in medium sized cities have more constituents than she had as mayor. And we laughed because Bush couldn't name the president of some well known countries? I doubt this woman can find Afghanistan on the map, much less put her finger on Georgia, and I don't mean the state although I'm not sure she could find the state either.

As Rush said, she's "guns, babies and Jesus". That is IT! In other words, absolutely nothing.

2. There is no question that you are 100% correct...
and so what you do at this point is that you go after McCain for choosing her.

11. No, this is the worst, going away
Both Eagleton and Quayle were US Senators when picked. At least that's something. Eagleton, btw was a good pick. However, the electroshock therapy he received as treatment was still very taboo at in 1972 and a big sign of weakness which to the WWII generation was a big liability.

Quayle was a garden variety idiot, but a US Senator nevertheless.

6. Why is Palin the focus?
Why is it that Rush is fueling you guys to this?

It's as if a swarm of bees flew in to cause stir up the nest.

Until we all know otherwise, we need to stick to McSame.

5. I agree, it's about how "out of touch" McCain is with...
reality!

I also wonder how the Governor of any state, male or female, with a spouse working far away on the Alaska North Slope, has time to "home school" her children, and care for an infant, four months old, with Down Syndrome.

She is Governor of a state with a little less than a million people, in a nation of 300 million. Her gubernatorial experience is less than two years, before that, part time Mayor of a town smaller than Peoria, smaller than 1000 cities and towns in the USA.

I just does NOT compute, in my mind, how McCain can have chosen her.

9. Colossal fail
John McCain well into his seventies that is a two time cancer survivor selected a political newcomer who admits she hasn't really thought much about Iraq to be a heartbeat away from the presidency. This is not only short sighted, it is fundamentally reckless.

12. He refers to
black children as 'tar babies'
hispanics as 'wet backs'
and asians as 'gooks'.

Can we keep that on the plate too? Yeah - let it marinate a little bit.
