I'm still very puzzled, and I haven't been home all weekend (will be home tomorrow night - long after everyone is gone)...

I'm curious...

2. My guess is that his first choice for VP told him no
So he decided to try something else. It's still hard to make any sense of even looking at it like that though.

My take - they had to pick SOMEONE - religious right wouldn't accept Romney or Lieberman, or Romney saw the light and said no thanks, or Romney has too many houses. Palin plays for the team, gets some name recognition, and * brings out the evangelical vote to help stop Congressional losses *

4. I have to believe she was plan F, as in in wtF.
As an Alaskan I can say, that right now, people in the state are happy about her nomination, just because she is an Alaskan. However, people up here are also in ,for lack of a better word, disbelief.

6. There is a window of time to look good for McCain/Palin...for the Sake of National UNTIY...CONCEDE
to Obama/Biden

If there ever was a time to JUMP SHIP and LOOK REAL GOOD at the SAME TIME...it is NOW

McCain should Concede and join the DEMs(OBAMA/BIDEN) in a JOINT EFFORT of COMPLETE UNITY.....ALL For ONE...and ONE For ALL....Dumas

Why take the chance to look good the 10% McBush Way ....this is way better ODDS to look like a hero...Join Obama...think of it,

Ya don't have to work the Election... and might get something of a Post where you and staff can go to semi retire...Don't be stubborn

Go with the ODDS....Ya would look really Smashing if ya join UNITY at the right time...and that is next week Fri...

If ya can arrange it...have Obama/Biden w familiues join you and Sarah on stage for a real UNITY THING...

NOW...THAT WOULD TOP THEM DEMS Thingy las week. REAL UNITY for this Great Nation of ours....wouldn't that be a Message of all messages to the World...

Come, we plan LUAU

7. maybe it was like a splitting the vote sort of thing...
With Rove reportedly pushing for Mittens, McCain's own personal feelings for Lieberman, and so on, I figure each of the top picks had their advocates and absolute foes. McCain just went down the list until he arrived at someone whom no one knew, so no one around him could really complain, and what was on paper (female ultra-conservative) looked good, so McCain went with her. Basically, she could've won the spot with effectively just 5% of the vote.

8. I believe Big Oil foisted her upon McSame..giving him no option.
She was the one they wanted...and that is the one he had no choice but to accept.
She had the right pedigree:Big Oil connections, extreme fundie, pro-gun, anti-conservation(shoot the wolves from airplanes), real anti-choice, and the icing on the cake ..SHE WAS A WOMAN with five children...
They could not have built a better choice..even with the help of the Stepford people.
