Palin's doctor was the 2002 American Family Physician of the Year
Cathy Baldwin-Johnson is the doctor who delivered Palin's baby in April.

This is the doctor some online are accusing of being unethical enough and foolish enough to get involved in a coverup of what those people are alleging was a "fake pregnancy."

My thanks to the DUer who posted that link -- though he or she probably didn't realize just how much it works against the silly story that the baby isn't really Sarah Palin's and is her daughter's instead.

Good luck trying to convince the American people, based on a few photos and a ton of smears, that a doctor good enough to be awarded that honor would participate in a coverup.

1. Hey, the baby could have been delivered by the POTUS and I still
would be skeptical.

2. You realize it was Palin who nominated her for the award, right?

4. Palin gave her a political appointment in May of 2007

Look, I'm by no means on board with this Grandma-gate story, but I disagree with the sentiment of this thread, which suggests that because of the doctor's resume, that's the end all, be all of this story. A fair observation must include the obvious political links between Palin and her doctor. You're making it sound like you have irrefutable proof that Grandma-gate has to be a concocted story. Sorry, but you don't have that irrefutable proof that you think that you do. The other side arguing that Palin isn't the mother doesn't have irrefutable proof either.

Also, do other experts agree with her doctor's supposed decision that she travel from Texas to Alaska after her water supposedly broke?

6. I don't think Palin giving a political appointment to a physician this good proves cronyism, let
alone that the doctor might feel she owed Palin enough in return to do anything both unethical and unwise.

And Palin did not ask her doctor's opinion of whether she should travel from Texas to Alaska, according to this news story published at the time:

9. Palin herself claimed that she flew back to Alaska on advice from her doctor
after her water broke. There are many other threads dedicated to debunking this specific claim, and they are credible. In particular, I think there was a link from either dailykos or talkingpointsmemo where they had the expert opinion of an OBGYN to shed a lot of doubt on this claim.

5. What Dr lets a woman in labor fly on an 8 hour flight?
Not a good one if you ask me awards or not.

7. Agreed. Why would Palin put her high-risk pregnancy in the hands of a general practitioner rather
than an OB-GYN? Very risky to handle something so precious as life in this manner.

8. And the doctor supposedly talked to her by phone.
How do you decide by phone whatever it's safe for a pregnant woman to travel after her amniotic fluid has leaked?

10. How do you determine that the amniotic fluid has leaked by phone?
