John McCain Just called My house here in Ohio
I live in Ohio and I hear the phone ringing and I look at the caller ID and its none other than a 1-866 number. I assume its a telemarketer so I decide not to answer it then after about 6 rings I pick it up...

Its none other than a voice recording of John McCain asking us to get involved in his campaign and to watch the RNC tomorrow. So of course I get the return number a leave a message of "kiss my ass" on his message machine.

My question is how did this POS get my phone number and the access to all the numbers in this part of Ohio (My grandma got a call too)

1. I got one today too, a guy calling to ask if I would listen to a pre-recorded
audio pile of shit from McAnus.
I said that nobody in this household would ever vote for a rePiglican, any time, any reason.
Thanks. Bye.

2. Maybe a magazine you subscribed to or the car you bought...
...or some other product you bought made them decide that you're a likely Republican voter.

7. They may have a record on you as a person...
...and what magazines you subscribe to, and when you get a new phone number, they just add that to your record.

4. Whenever you get a recorded message from the repukes
let it play out, no matter how long it is. If you hang up, they just call someone else. The longer you keep them on the line, the less calls they can make.

5. Ok, here's how it works
Many years ago, my ex wife was a telemarketer (we needed money) and she explained it all to me. The first three nos. on my land line are 326. Then from there, the computer goes through all of the 326 prefixes until there is a hit. And it's as simple as that. I bet that's what the McCain campaign does and I bet that's what almost all other campaigns do as well. So if you want to stop the robo calls from a political candidate, well, good luck. But if you want to stop the McCain calls, register as a Democrat. I never get calls from repubs.

8. Can anyone vote absentee in NC,
...or does the person need to claim to be unable to go to the polls on Election Day?

Don't think we won't use this option with the elderly. We are already canvassing, using the campaign brochure re early voting - obtaining person's name, addy, phone number that they sign indicating that they are interested in early voting. 1/2 of the form stays w/the person - has a calendar showing beginning/ending dates for early voting. The campaign will enter the data into a database to followup w/ppl who have indicated an interest in early voting. I hope to be able to take time off from work to carry ppl in my van to early voting sites, also. (more info than you requested, I know).

10. I hope you spoke very slowly when you recorded the message
remember the repukes have to pay for every minute of every message recorded.

12. Nope Obama from the begining
Im 19 and I just registered to vote a couple of weeks ago so I know it has nothing to do with that. Other than that I really have no magazine subscriptions, car loans or anything but a pile of debt that McCain has helped to create.

15. I've been getting calls from Idaho Republicans for MONTHS.
I've also been getting mailers from them.

I don't know why. I'm a registered member of the Idaho Democrats, have never worked for or voted for the other guys, and can't figure out why I'm getting all their propaganda.
