my thoughts on the republican vp pick

As an enthusiastic Obama supporter and a very, very concerned female citizen, I was really nervous about who McCain would choose. I was worried about the PUMA’s and their ridiculous disagreement with the DNC, I was worried that McCain would pick someone who did make the excellent choice of Biden seem politically, or shoring up a weakness motivated. I considered seriously all the Republicans from which McCain had to choose. Some strong women, flawed one way or another, but hard to argue with…Meg Whitman, that Carly person, KB Hutchison, etc. Mitt, though a joke to democrats, worried me because I thought McCain would seek to shore up HIS only self proclaimed weakness –the economy. Pawlenty to get the good old boy base and Midwest values. I was most worried about Rob Portman. Would have been a very intelligent choice, hard to argue with. Lieberman and Ridge – well, democrats would have loved it. And apparently so would have McCain.



When I read it was Sarah Palin…….all I could think was….phew!!!!!!!! Never in my wildest imagination did I think a gift like Palin would be given to us. I’m excited. Bring it on, Hockey Mom!

he's going to get the fundie vote and the vote of stupid women who like the idea of a woman on the ticket.

and after Obama's speech on Thursday, our show for unity, and what is about to be revealed about Palin, and how that will reflect on McCain, I'm not going to be confident, but this may be the worse pick he could have made; unvetted at that!

As an independent, I've always been Obama. But a lot of my Indie Conservative buds have switched over. Palin did it for a few.

there are still racist people out there who will not vote for obama.

i'll tell you a story that you will appreciate. my granddaughter asked my ex husband about the election. he said he didn't like either one, but if forced to make a decision he would go with the white guy. she then asked him what he would have done had she married a black man. he said "i would want no part of you".

and not so much as a Black man.

Just like some people may not vote for the Old man and his young soulmate.

So since you can't control what people feel in their hearts, why don't you concentrate
on not concentrating on race yourself so much. If you don't, you may become like one
of those that I am running into all over the place; those who don't see Obama so much as Black,
as they see a man with the qualities of a true statesmen and leader.

(Sometimes we worry so much, we start thinking that everyone else sees what we see)


Also note, polls have shown that more people have a problem voting for a 72 year old man to repair this torn nation than they do a Black man.

If needed, you can always tell them that the ticket is only 1/4 black.

i'll try not to worry.

mccain was going to get most of those fundie votes anyway, just not as enthusiastically.
i think the majority of mccains votes will come from those who just vote repug no matter what.

Move on and talk about our much better candidates is what I have to say to all those posters going out about how McMoran's choice of this bimbo with no support, who never ran for President, is somehow brilliant and "dangerous."

I cannot fathom anyone voting for a candidate on the basis of their sex as opposed to their politics. What type of individual would do such a thing? Makes no sense to me whatsoever.
