Gramps' POW bio convention theme won't play well with Gustav as a backdrop
Edited on Mon Sep-01-08 08:16 AM by npincus
From the "not Ready to Lead" convention theme, which needs to be put back in the box post-Palin, I read somewhere that MCCain's bio, his POW experience was going to be a major emphasis.

Well, how does the suffering of ONE man play against the backdrop of nearly 2 million people evacuated from their homes, massive property loss (many losing the SINGLE home they owned- not 1 of 7 homes) and G-d forbid, any human casualties? I don't think this theme will play particularly well with images of suffering along the Gulf coast.

Also, the standard fare of GOP conventions-- "red meat", will not be well-received, as the suffering of fellow Americans, Dems and Repubs alike, trumps politics any day.

What the hell are they going to talk about?
