Coincidental juxtaposition
Here are two stories that were on MSNBC's front page this morning.

Anyone remember "Coincidental Juxtaposition Comics"?

Hidden Depths
The scion of a family of warriors, John McCain seems easy to venerate—or caricature. But he is more complex than you may think.

1. Those Putin stories
remind me of the wire service crap that used to come out of North Korea 15 years ago. "Kim Jong-Il shot 18 holes in one today, and it was witnessed that trees blossomed out of season for this fortuitous event."

2. IMO, those McCain stories are intended to achieve the same goal
Putin, McCain, Bush, Cheney, Reagan -- all super-heroes capable of protecting us from danger.

What a load of bullshit. But it works. What's that tell you about humankind? Most of us are still living in fear ever since leaving the cave and are willing to follow anyone who can bullshit us into thinking they can protect us -- as they make the world more dangerous while turning a very nice profit.
