Dem Talking Points -- Please counter the BS!
The Repukes are organized, as we can see from their infiltration here.

when we blog, leve comments, etc, we need to have soundbite messages to get across as well.

For all of the "branding" of Repukes as fiscally responsible, and the comparisons between Obama and Palin as both being equally inexperienced, we have done a poor job getting the truth out there. Here is a list of short talking points we can cut and paste and leave as comments everywhere. Please feel free to add to the list and I'll update it as needed:

Palin is to be compared to Joe Biden, since they are running for the same job.

Palin has not studied the constitution. She also has no experience in the senate and has the least experience of any VP candidate in the past 100 years according to presidential scholars.

Worried about taxes? Obama has also served 8 years in the State Senate and 4 in US Senate, where he represents the 5th most populous state in the Nation. In the Illinois State Senate, he worked with both Democrats and Republicans to help working families get ahead by creating programs like the state Earned Income Tax Credit, which in three years provided over $100 million in tax cuts to families across the state.

Tax and spend Republican Palin is being sold as a tax cutter, but actually, she left Wasilla with a larger tax debt AND she spent like mad on pet projects.

Palin experience adds up to an extensive pattern of administrative misconduct and political grandstanding.

Palin has a lengthy record of opposing law enforcement officials in Alaska and siding with special interests ahead of public safety.

Palin supported legislation to allow guns in schools, banks and bars. Yes, bars. She did this to appease her NRA extremists friends.

Palin broached the subject of banning books at the Wasilla Library.

Palin has a reputation of political vengeance and retribution.

Even Palin’s own mother-in-law, Faye Palin, said that she doesn’t agree with Sarah on anything and that the only reason McCain selected her is because she’s a woman. Her mother in law has said she will vote for Obama. So much for family values.

"...she’s certainly not one to change her ways.” Gee, McCain didn't need to add another stubborn, self-righteous and blinded by ambitious person to his ticket. These two are scary together. Are they planning on running America the way she ran Wasilla and Alaska? Like a dictatorship where you do things her way or you lose your job? That's the kind of partisanship politics that this country DOES NOT need right now.

Palin can't debate national crisis issues at all. But the one topic Palin can debate one side up and down the other, is Alaska oil and gas. Watch for the debates to all turn to this single issue instead of foreign policy and ask yourself, are we safe with this woman in charge?

Why won't she discuss foreign policy?

Palin was for the Bridge to Nowhere before she was against it.

They've branded her as against pork belly spending. However in 2007 her state received the highest per capita amount of federal funding, £253.16 ($506.34), according to Taxpayers for Common Sense, a watchdog group which tracks "earmark" spending.

She also supported multi-billion-dollar tax increase on Alaska's oil industry, and approved a £250 million state subsidy to a Canadian company wanting to build a natural gas pipeline through Alaska.

According to a news report, PALIN CALLED FORMER ALASKA COMMISSIONER MONEGAN 24 TIMES to try and get her brother in law fired. Monegan told her she should remove herself from the investigation. Soon after, he was fired.

Alaska experienced an oil boom shortly after she was sworn in (just see when the price per a barrel of oil shot up), and to credit her is ludicrous.

1. Lovin' it. It's posts like this that are supposed to be on the first page.
Not tabloid fodder. She's got a lot of trash and thank you for pointing out so much of it. I still can't get past the $20 million dollar debt to Wasilia and everyone is talking about a baby. Man she's screwed.

She probably considers anything outside Alaska as foreign...that's why she doesn't talk foreign policy.

Bless you for this.

2. Sarah Palin on the Pledge of Allegiance = WRONG
Edited on Mon Sep-01-08 11:10 AM by DangerousRhythm
From the 2006 Gubernatorial Candidate Questionnaire. Sarah Palin doesn't even know basic US history a grade schooler should know about the Pledge of Allegiance, thinks the founding fathers wrote it with "Under God" and everything. WTF?

11. Are you offended by the phrase “Under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance? Why or why not?
SP: Not on your life. If it was good enough for the founding fathers, its good enough for me and I’ll fight in defense of our Pledge of Allegiance.

--------------------------

Palin criticized Barack Obama’s plan for a Windfall Profits Tax on oil companies, so why was she for it before she got selected by John McCain? The Alaska state website scrubbed her statement on Obama's energy plan but it's still in http://209.85.141.104/search?q=cache:wbCGTUeD1r0J:www.gov.state.ak.us/news.php%3Fid%3D1384+I+am+pleased+to+see+Senator+Obama+acknowledge+the+huge+potential+Alaska%E2%80%99s+natural+gas+reserves+represent+in&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1&gl=us&client=firefox-a">Google's cache.

Over the opposition of oil companies, Republican Gov. Sarah Palin and Alaska's Legislature last year approved a major increase in taxes on the oil industry — a step that has generated stunning new wealth for the state as oil prices soared.

5. Loving this- thanks everyone! keep them coming
I'll compile a new list at the end of the day and we can circulate it FAR and WIDE

I really think if we have a list to keep handy we can spread the message all over the internet (interwebs) and fight msm in this small, but still important, way.

thanks!

I am fired up because I had a horrible experience yesterday while registering voters in the deep south. We must fight these people and win. we MUST.

7. Sounds like a radical to me. Not VP material.
 :nuke: You'll get "Bomb-bomb bomb,Bomb bomb Iran" and "I championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress,” Palin said at her first campaign appearance. “In fact, I told Congress — I told Congress, ‘Thanks, but no thanks,’ on that bridge to nowhere. If our state wanted a bridge, I said we’d build it ourselves.”

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2072172/posts *** Honestly, free republic against Palin!

That is not how Palin described her position on the Gravina Island bridge when she ran for governor in 2006.

On Oct. 22, 2006, the Anchorage Daily News asked Palin and the other candidates, “Would you continue state funding for the proposed Knik Arm and Gravina Island bridges?”

Her response: “Yes. I would like to see Alaska’s infrastructure projects built sooner rather than later. The window is now — while our congressional delegation is in a strong position to assist.”

Palin’s support of the earmark for the bridge was applauded by the late Lew Williams Jr., the retired Ketchikan Daily News publisher who wrote columns on the topic.

Williams wrote on Oct. 29, 2006, that Palin was the only gubernatorial candidate that year who consistently supported the Gravina Island Bridge, the Knik Arm Bridge and improvements to the Parks Highway.

Two months earlier, while campaigning in Ketchikan, Palin made a positive reference to the bridge, while also joking, as a resident of the Mat-Su Valley, about Sen. Ben Stevens’ slap at Mat-Su residents as “Valley trash.”

“OK, you’ve got Valley trash standing in the middle of nowhere,” Palin said on a stop in Ketchikan, a quote reprinted in the Juneau Empire Friday. “I think we’re going to make a good team as we progress that bridge project.”

A year later, she issued a news release as governor saying Ketchikan needed better airport access, but a $398 million bridge was not going to happen.

“Despite the work of our congressional delegation, we are about $329 million short of full funding for the bridge project and it’s clear that Congress has little interest in spending any more money on a bridge between Ketchikan and Gravina Island,” Palin said on Sept. 21, 2007.

The money was not sent back to the federal government, but spent on other projects.

That was hardly “Thanks but no thanks.”

Two crazy liars. Bush/Cheny? No, McCain/Palin.

8. updating with
With all due respect to the family, and kudos to them for upholding their beliefs as far as abortion goes, it can't be missed that Palin's 17 year old daughter, herself an un-wed mother, settles the unworkability of abstinence as policy to fight unwanted pregnancies once and for all.

The argument for abstinence and not providing sex ed and contraception to teens is officially dead.

We need sex ed and contraception for teenagers. Period.
