Disgusting: McCain may BENEFIT from Gustav - Where is Obama rapid response?
Edited on Mon Sep-01-08 11:56 AM by debbierlus
FORGOT THE LINK TO THE ARTICLE:

This issue should DESTROY McCain. Bush was celebrating MCCAIN'S BIRTHDAY with the Senator, the day Katrina hit in 2005. McCain voted against all Katrina aid in 2005. McCain DID NOTHING in response to hurricane Katrina. And, now, Gustav hits and since it occurs during his nominating convention, he cares. And, nobody can criticize him, why? Oh, no politics out of respect for the disaster?

WE NEED POLITICS IN RESPONSE TO THE DISASTER. We need a good kick in the ass reminder of the Republican response to Katrina. And, we need to drive it home.

3. WE shouldn'[t politicize Gustav. I'm sure the republicans will do just fine on that point without
any help from us.

6. Pretending to be the Pres doesn't really HELP anyone. Maybe a few people
will notice. Obama has actually called on his supporters to donate to the Red Cross
and has volunteers ready to help. Seems more appropriate than making speeches
and trying to look important. :eyes:

Pretty clearly political theater. All talk, no substance.

7. Aw Jeez Not This Shit Again.
Obama is running a terrible campaign. Us nobodies know what he should do every moment. Why isn't he doing what we think he should do,

How long is this shit going to go on?

I guess he'll have to deal with this everyday of his presidency too.

8. I forgot THE LINK TO THE ARTICLE: This is how the MSM are spinning it

http://slate.com/id/2198984

The title of the article:

McCain-Gustav '08
The hurricane upsets the GOP Convention but may be good for the GOP.

Sorry for the confusion. I was being rushed to get off the computer when I originally posted. I wasn't putting this out, this is from the spin machine and it needs to be STOMPED out. McCain should get NO POINTS for this political pony show.

9. Obama is not going to bring up Katrina,
and the fact that Bush-McCain were celebrating McCain's birthday. That would be the worst kind of political pandering during a national emergency situation. Completely classless and tacky.

Today is about Gustav the evacuated residents and people still in harms way. NOBODY has forgotten about the appalling and criminal lack of response to Katrina. Nobody.
