Sarah Palin's opposition to teaching teens about birth control is crazy!

Abstinence only education has not worked in the public schools to reduce pregnancy rates or STD transmission. Teaching kids healthy choices which gives them practical information on STD's and condom use, talking about the life altering aspects of being a teen mom or dad (ever see those life size babies programmed with crying 24/7 that some teens carry around for 3 days?), and the promotion of anything in academics, the arts, in sports, or anything extracurricular which increases self esteem --- all reduce teen pregnancy.

Kids that feel better about themselves make healthier choices!

As an official position, I hear Sarah Palin is 100% opposed to teaching kids about birth control. For someone that is against reproductive freedom for women, how does a policy which increases unwanted pregnancy in teens mesh? I'd like to see her answer that.

I wish her pregnant daughter the best, but there are many, many teenage girls that get pregnant without the support of a loving parent at home (or caring boyfriend). These kids fall through the cracks in a system that needs to be far more proactive and realistic.
