McCain Campaign preparing Palin's exit (prediction)

I could be wrong about this, but I get the feeling we're about to see Sarah Palin decline the VP nomination "to preserve the privacy of her pregnant daughter".

The repugs will harp on and on about how terrible the left wing media and bloggers are for invading the privacy of her children, harassing them, etc, as a means of deflecting from the fact that McShame did such a lousy job of vetting Palin, if they even bothered till now.

They'll go on to point to this as evidence that the Obama camp are not favorable to the interests of women because they didn't step in and defend Palin from the evil left wing media.

And of course the media themselves will not stand up against these talking points because that would lead to them pointing out McShame's poor judgment in his failure to vet his VP pick.

Be ready, if I'm right, this is the message we'll be hearing for the next two months from McShame and his replacement running mate. Nothing about how they'll do things, only whining about being victims.

Thoughts?

14. If she's not gone, they will most definetly lose this election
Unless they steal it. Not that THAT would ever happen.

18. I think this election is pretty much over
Either she stays on the ticket and drags it to Davy Jones' or she's off the ticket and McCain looks like an idiot.

20. Yeah. They made some really bad moves on this.
And the shit hasn't even started over it yet. I'm putting my feet up and watching the entire train wreck in glee.

5. Her mohter made the choice
she had to know she would bring all sorts of unwanted attention on her daughter is she ran. Sarah didn't care and ran anyway.

6. I think you're right about how McCampaign & the Media
will spin it: It was those lousy lefty bloggers. But the truth really is that the McCain campaign should have vetted her, and Palin did not have to accept the offer if she was concerned about her family's privacy. It should always be pointed back to bad judgement on *their* part. By raising the questions, bloggers were only a) doing what *journalists* would do, and b) only doing what comes naturally for reasonable people to do when presented with scenarios that don't add up.

But if there was any intention on the Palin family's part to keep this quiet, Mother Nature would've made it very clear sooner or later, blogger interference or no.

12. So you mean her kid won't be pregnant on Wednesday?
Honest to shit, you people watch one episode of "The West Wing" and you think you're political consultants.

She's five months pregnant. That ain't going away. Palin is under investigation for corruption. That ain't going away.

8. It's a Catch 22 for McCain anyway
If he keeps her, he loses...
If he gets rid of her, he loses...it makes him to bad.

9. We're in a holiday weekend with a hurricane going on
Wait until the week starts when the shit hits the fan. She'll be gone. She will not be able to handle the shitstorm. she does NOT have the experience. She has not idea what she's getting into. We have no idea either. When womens groups start asking questions and comparing her to Hillary? forget it. She's toast.

11. McCain will say anything, do anything for his personal interests
So I don't doubt you for one minute, that they will say these things. For them, its not about good government, its about "fuck you, I got mine." It always has been, and it always will be in that crowd.

13. This shows how we can thank Daily Kos & other bloggers for getting this info out. The MSM would not
have done it. We had those here on DU a lot of newbies crying oh we should not talk about this, we are giving them ammo. All of this crap about not doing this which is what the republicans do all the time and win elections by it. It is not about attacking her daughter or her, it is about our country and a new VP. Do you think the republicans if reversed would have said oh lets don't talk about it.

By the bloggers talking about it, the MSM had to look into it, the info was getting so hot, she had to come out and tell the truth on this.

I hope some people learn that in a election you have to go to battle, you have to play ball.

17. But if Palin is so Feminist for Life why not bring up Bristol's pregnancy as
another example of how devoted she and her family is to their beliefs? "See", she could have said, "rather than terminate her pregnancy, she did the right thing by marrying the father and having the child because that's what we believe in."

She displayed the 5th child for that reason.

19. When Rick Davis is done waterboarding Sarah Palin, he'll probably still
not ever trust her again, after failing to provide all these juicy details.

This is the last thing the desperate campaign needed: To be on total stressed-out damage control, not even knowing what's coming next.

I'm sure he's (Davis) got some of his people reading DU and DKos and other blogs to see what else is coming up his pike.

But try to imagine, you signed up to run a campaign for a party that expects to win, and you're constantly upstaged by Clinton, Clinton, Barack, Michelle, Joe and Jill and now, the hurricane and Babygate.

These people were already demoralized before Gramps pulled this out of his senile ass.

I'll bet he loses yet more workers before this is all over and a new running-mate is selected.

In the meantime, they have the unsavory task of trying to explain all of this to the alzheimer's patient who can't even read the internets for himself.

Oh, to be a fly on the GOP RNC wall, right about now.
