Palin's nomination was a publicity stunt
I think the GOP picked her to steal Obama's limelight, she'll probably drop out by the end of this convention.

3. I don't know about her dropping out,
but you are spot on that it was a publicity stunt. She was totally selected to take Obama/Biden off the front page.

Be careful what you wish for!

4. McCain never vetted Palin
and he "prick-teased" Romney et al.

12. Palin will have to be the sacrificial lamb to save McInsane's ass. TURN UP THE HEAT
She will have to drop out - I don't see any other solution.

They are ALL bound to be watching the polls carefully.

15. I don't want her to drop out now--she might be impeached as Governor
for lying about the Monegan firing.

5. Yep--an unvetted, poorly-thought-through stunt. Totally a reaction
to the successful Dem convention. They already have to be sorry. What a Jerry Springer trainwreck this is turning out to be--Palin is under investigation, her careless treatment of her infant at the time of its birth comes out, she admits her daughter is pregnant despite the abstinence only education she promotes in AK, she lied about her Bridge to Nowhere opposition, and she has absolutely NO experience on national and international issues. What a fucking disaster.

6. You may be on to something! This whole thing is so strange that
I wonder. Palin could exit and McCain could pick Lierman and tell the base that he tried to go with one of theirs but it just didn't work out.

8. If she pulls out, we've won the White House.
The GOP just doesn't have the time to, find, check and introduce a VP.

the problem is, the McCain camp has been sitting on its hands for months while we've been in the vicious trench war of inside politics. They did noting, they had gobs of time to vette all the possible VP's they want. And at the last minute they switch to this travisty of a pick just to smack the Hillary people around? Craven doesn't even begin to describe it.

Now Palin has blown up in their faces and they have to go to the RNC with her, or with out her. But either way, they're screwed now. To drop her at or after the Convention will make them look like total fools. To keep her will make them look like total fools. They had 24 hours to get America to like her, and they failed. Epic Fail.

11. Publicity stunt or not, McCain's judgment - or his perceived decision making "skills",
goes straight down the toilet.

13. leave her on the ticket
Our chances are better, the loonier their nominee appears to be. If she "withdraws to spend more time with her family", the next VP nominee could be more formidable.

14. FAUX trying to spin it - Cavuto interrupted guy who was saying that he had initially written off
Edited on Mon Sep-01-08 01:34 PM by 1Hippiechick
Palin, saying that the only foreign policy service she had was probably at "IHOP". Cavuto about dropped his microphone and interrupted him.

Cavuto prompted him w/the "right" spin, but it is still hilarious. Cavuto looks and sounds SO uncomfortable. I can't help but laugh.

edited to correct spelling - laughing so hard I can't type!
