The Christian right won't be upset by Palin's daughter's pregnancy.
It happens all the time in red America.

They only object when it happens to young black girls.

Blacks really don't have that many abortions from what I understand.

I understand that inner city blacks really don't have that many abortions. The real numbers come from white middle-class America.

I wonder if they are worried about the census more than the fetus.

Pregnant white teenagers make 'mistakes', or 'errors in judgment'.

Pregnant black teenagers are 'welfare queens'.

The hypocrisy is stunning.

according to another thread I just read.

But it doesn't really matter what Red America thinks -- it's what McCain's handlers think. They CANNOT be pleased. I think they're going to push to have her off the ticket.

I have a rabidly RW Christian friend who, when I told him the news, went white and had to sit down.

He said he will probably stay home and not vote. I think we might see a lot of that.

my family has some fundie types in it--and they are extremely judgmental (family by marriage not by blood).
