Country First...

My husband wrote this e-mail to many of his friends. Some of these friends are Democrats and others Repukes. I liked what he wrote and wanted to share it with all of my DU friends. It is in response to the picture of McStupid and Miss Mooseburger and the oxymoron picture.


If there is any truth to "a picture is worth a thousand words", then this picture meets that criteria. Both standing on the slogan "Country First".. We haven't seen any signs of this now for the past 8 years.. With McSame voting 95 % of the time along with the bush.. "Country First" is indeed an oxymoronic concept... Doesn't get any better than this... Wrong theme at the wrong place and at the wrong time.. Was it Country First to invade and attack an innocent sovereign country for it's OIL? Was it country first to approve torture to thousands of innocent human beings and violate the Geneva Convention and our own Constitution, was it country first to eavesdrop and listen in on Americans at home, was it country first to hand out no-bid contracts to war profiteers like Blackwater and Halliburton, was it country first to hand out tax breaks to the wealthiest of Americans, was it country first to subsidize the OIL giants with funds that they fully well don't need, was it country first to lie about building the case for WAR on Iraq, was it country first to fire Democratic lawyers working in the Justice Department because of their political affiliations, was it first to watch the chaotic response to Katrina while bush and McSame were celebrating a birthday and eating cake; was it Country First to watch bush's response to the attack on the World Trade Center, as he read "Pet Goat", for 7 minutes to school children before he caught his breath and got off his chair, was it, was it, was it????? Too many was it's!!! And, this pair of nominees are nothing than more of the same. The use of "Country First" as a theme should be an insult to all Americans. It is to me.. Country Last is more in line with the ideology of these bums.
