Bristol's Confirmed Pregnancy; Believe it or Not.....
This will be a winning issue with them. If it looks like you are attacking a pregnant teen; regular people come to their defense, just as happened when Clinton was being "impeached" and it totally backfired on Repugs when most people felt that was none of their business, etc... also this is the perfect pro-life story, like that Juno movie. What cracks me up is that they said this was her decision. So did they support her having a CHOICE in the matter? Not very "pro-life" to support "pro-choice" from their perspective. Dwelling on this will only bring them joy as it "humanizes" the family, causing ordinary folks to identify with them.... why do I hate them so much? Also, do we really believe that McCain knew about this, as his spokesperson claimed?

1. I don't have a problem with the pregnancy - it's the other things it exposes
Like how he didn't vet her even though he said he did and all the other contradictory statements (polite way of saying there's a lie in there somewhere) that are flying about.

2. I agree with your point
However, that is exactly what the Republicans said about Clinton. "It is not that he had an affair, it is that he lied," of course they said he lied under oath... But I agree there appears to be an entire web of deceit that is unraveling here, and very quickly

4. It was stupid, though understandable, for Clinton to lie.
But I don't think the ramifications were the same (or shouldn't have been) as for McCain apparently picking a VP NOT JUST FOR HIMSELF, BUT FOR THE WHOLE COUNTRY IF HE (god forbid) WINS!

He apparently just blew off the VP pick, or was told who to pick, without much thought or background checking. What does that say of his care for the country?

8. I agree. I would never attack this girl (and I do mean girl)
The mother (and father) are who I am dressing down. It is their decision to take this opportunity and subject their family to this. I do not see anyone attacking the girl or her decision or the boyfriend. I think, most, like me, are questioning the selfishness and pure drive and ambition that the mother and father are displaying. That is what sickens me to my absolute core. I said it before, I'll say it again - in light of Jamie Lynn Spears, the teenage girls that went together to get pregnant, the movie Juno - and they honestly didn't think this would generate any attention?

I am a working mother, have two boys who are now teenagers. I was pressured by my mother-in-law and my own grandmother that I should not have work or even not work today, even though they are teenagers. I don't prescribe to that philosophy. Never have, never will. I know that I have been a good mother, probably better than if I would have stayed at home all day. But, this is a different matter entirely.

In my very simple mind, this mother and father have sacrificed the well-being of both Bristol and Trig, particularly, and of all of their other children, for the simple goal of becoming VP - power and glory and notariety. Frankly, I hate to think this skeptically, but I almost wonder if they are not using this girl and her pregnancy for more publicity and sympathy.

For what it's worth anyway.
