Happy LABOR DAY, let's not Forget All who fought and died to create UNIONS and gave us so Much!
Let's not forget among all the Hub bub today the fine people who fought and some DIED to form UNIONS and gave us so much. From Matewan to Hay Market Riots, Pete Seegar, Woodie "This Land is YOUR Land" Guthrie organizing from the back of trucks in fields with banjos and guitars, sometimes getting their heads bashed in, or shot by the Boss Men and their Stooges.

Let's NEVER Forget Reagan destroying Unions, the Air Traffic Control Union used as fodder to begin disassembling these fine Unions.

Without them we'd be working 18 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year Long. Children would be slaving for Corporate Masters in THIS Country, NO Vacations, NO Overtime, NO Benefits at ALL.

I Salute the Brave Men and Women who gave us SO MUCH, Let's not Forget to REMEMBER THEM TODAY!

God Bless them, every one.

3. I lost my job Unionizing
but learned a valuable Lesson.. if you hold out long enough the Union organizer will get YOU plenty Drunk :)

Kidding of course, DID lose the Job though. I'll never forget the meeting with the whole crew and the Big Boss there, SOME people ARGUING AGAINST MORE PAY! I mean the WORKERS!

My jaw was on the floor. The Union DID get in. Seattle Art store, downtown Seattle 1986 or so. My son was just born so it was a real bitch, but I stuck to my guns :)

5. Well, at least they didn't shoot you.
When you get to the Big Union Hall in the sky, my old man will shout across the room, "Ya did good, man. Have a beer."

7. Yes. Cheers to all the Norma Rae's out there who rocked our world and
made it a better place. You grew the middle class in the 20th century to a huge proportion of the population. You did it once. You can do it again.
