Now that Palin has revealed to the public that her daughter is pregnant, it gives the MSM license to report on the "rumor campaign" about her supposedly "fake" pregnancy. At least in this instance, no good can come for our side from having the media spotlight shine down on the left-leaning blogopshere.
Of course. we all know we're just fringe folk who don't matter a hill of beans in the great scheme of politics.
Still, the question will be put whether anybody at all connected with the campaign had any role whatsoever in spreading this nonsense. I firmly believe that nobody within a thousand light years of Obama's campaign would be stupid enough to have any role whatsoever in this mess. But that never stopped the media -- especially not FAUX news and Limbaugh and the whole right wing cabal -- from speculating and getting rumors started. So look for the right wing cabal especially to hammer our side on this score. "New politics, my arse, " they will, say. "Talk about the politics of personal destruction .." they will say.
And they will have a point about some elements of the blogosphere. Thankfully, the campaign is better than us and thankfully Obama did exactly the right thing in reacting with umbrage to the charge that the campaign had some role of this whole affair and promising to fire anybody who did.
Finally, if the blogosphere starts piling on in any way about the daughter's pregnancy and whether Palin should be subjecting her teenage daughter to public scrutiny by running for office at such a difficult time for her and all that, we'll be once again shooting ourselves in the foot.
