Obama Asks That We Donate $5.00 to Red Cross

I just got a text message, it reads

Barack asks that you give to the Red Cross: give 5 dollars by texting GIVE to 24357 or give more by calling 1-800-435-7669 or at redcross.org/donate - Please fwd.

1. find a way to give to people directly - red cross does not give this

directly to the people affected - it has been shown over and over - when elizabeth dole worked for them she was paid 500,000 a year - the last big 'fund raiser' disaster they were going to spend the money on upgrading computers - that was the 9/11 one - sorry I was hoping he would have found a better cause or organization to help people - we have so many good ones - brad pitts homes, oprah did some great work for katrina people, some local churches there, habitat for humanity, nature's harvest, find ones where the money and food actually goes to help the people

and here's some breaking news, if a whole lot of Barack Obama supporters respond to his request, especially through text messaging, they will be able to record each one and then report on it.

I know how fucked up the Red Cross has been in recent years. I'm a regular DU'er, we are an informed bunch.
