No details yet, but Dan Abrams just announced on MSNBC that Sarah Palin has just hired a lawyer...
...in connection with the Trooper investigation!

The clock is ticking, yesterday I gave her until the end of September before she withdrew her name, earlier today I moved that up to one week...now I don't even think she'll get to the nomination/seconding speeches and confirmation by the convention delegates.

Hopefully MSNBC will elaborate soon! Stay tuned...

1. Makes her sound exceedingly guilty...
Lawyer hiring never helps in the polls.

2. But, Republicans always say
that if she's not guilty, she should have nothing to hide, so why should she need a lawyer?

3. Andrea Mitchell just made a big deal about how
"of course she should have an attorney" but the silver headed youngish dude (don't know his name) said politically doesn't that look suspicious?

9. She was really ugly to him at one point in that segment.
My husband and I looked at each other like "WOW" when she was so bitchy to him.

14. I don't think he's popular with the regulars anymore because he just doesn't let up...
...they should nickname Abrams "Bulldog"!

4. Dan hopped right on it while interviewing Andrea Mitchell
Mitchell as asked about it and blathered on taking as much time as she could until Dan had to interrupt her for more Gustav news.

I wonder who the lawyer is?

5. Andrea also said
"some people say (who, the McCain campaign Andrea?) that the investigation is only bc Palin has 'political opponents'" Uh, k, Andrea. But she also said that she "had it on good authority" that she was not as vetted as the McCain campaign has been letting on, and repeated the report about Republican lawyers being sent to Alaska now to do further vetting.

11. Listen to Frank Bailey here
Gov. Sarah Palin's director of boards and commissions, Frank Bailey, calls a trooper station to complain about Trooper Mike Wooten, Palin's ex-brother-in-law.

13. Abrams minor elaboration, and TPM does confirm the story:

Abrams..."the lawyer said he was hired two weeks ago, and they're following the story."

From TPM:

Out of Order?
We had heard hints of this. But just moments ago, Andrea Mitchell on MSNBC said that Republican lawyers are currently doing a vet of Sarah Palin up in Alaska. We'll get you the video shortly. But it seems that the really deep vet of Palin started after her selection was announced.

16. Abrams said this lawyer is the counsel for the governor's office, too
since they don't have in-house counsel in Alaska.

18. I said it two days ago
This bimbo is a ticking bomb. NanceGreggs put it precisely right. McShits just blew his own brains out on national television. Mayor Mooseburger McCheesecake won't last another ten days. Replacing Veep candidates is always a great thing. Anyone else remember how that Eagleton for Shriver thing worked out?
