almost it was very difficult to watch. First off O'Reilly knows didly about Iran and Obama handled it for the most part well trying to explain to that asshat that Iran is an entirely different beast and can't be handled the same atrocious manner in which Iraq was handled. I love how he just dismisses Diplomacy like its totally meaningless. I wanted to say you want a fight then take your fat, white, pasty ass over to Iran.

I have watched this excuse for a news show all night and never saw Obama.

I want an hour of my life back.

And I'm not sure I can stand to watch him now. . .

It did remind me how spot-on Stephen Colbert's character is. O'Reilly would ask a question, allow two words from Obama, and then chime in with his own worthless opinion.

the success of the "surge" dovetails quite nicely with the line of questioning to Obama by O'Really. Wow, what a friggin' coincidence.

When the debates come, he's going to have to be like a machine gun shooting the points he wants to make. His reaction to the surge was defensive. He needs to just immediately go into attack mode on the question's premise that the surge has worked. No one questioned whether adding thousands of more troops would decrease the ability of insurgents to blow things up. The surge was supposed to bring about political reconciliation and then Obama should enumerate every political goal that the Iraqis have failed to accomplish. And then say in summary that Bush and McCain's strategy in Iraq has not been successful and we are not safer as a nation. O'Reilly brought up the idea of Iraq paying some of the bill for the war and Obama seemed to be on board with that. Obama should have brought it up before O'Reilly brought it up, if it's something Obama believes.

Same thing with the Pakistan and Al Qaeda/OBL. It took Obama forever to finally get to his point which was that we are giving military aid to the Pakistanis without requiring Pakistan to be ruthless against the safe havens in Pakistan.

I am very thankful Obama did this interview, because it showed how much he has to learn about debating McCain this fall. Obama wasn't in command of that interview, but it wasn't O'Reilly's fault. It was Obama's fault. He hasn't learned how to be succinct. He actually sounded like the Senate-ese that Kerry spoke in 2004, where it took him 5 minutes to say something he could really say in 30 seconds. Obama is a guy who likes to hang out and shoot the shit with people. That's fine, but he has to be able to switch that mode of thinking off in his head and go into this other mode of thinking that is barebones and is about punching McCain repeatedly with rebuttal points. Obama has to take charge of the debates. He's not prepared to do that right now, but he has time.

in Iraq, Pakisatn, Afghanistan, th timeline. That's why I think they had to stir up Georgia-to have another war.

That's the funny part. Kerry the surrogate can say things in 30 seconds. Kerry the 2004 nominee takes 5 minutes. Kerry learned how to do it, so I know Obama can. He just needs to learn it right now.

It reminds me of the SNL parodies in 2000 of Bush and Gore's debate. It changed how Bush and Gore acted in the next debate. I hope this O'Reilly experience will show the Obama campaign the danger signs they need to see now, rather than see them after it's too late this Fall. This O'Reilly interview will be very similar to how the debates will be. Ex-candidate Kerry can teach Obama how to be more focused and more disciplined about getting his point across. And if Obama has time left over after shortening up how long it takes to make his points, then make those points all over again. Hammer away with those points relentlessly.

I would have probably ended up throwing my TV thru the window out of frustration.
I am certainly not going to watch any of the other segments that it seems o'LIElly is using to milk this with.

Still pissed off that Obama even gave o'LIElly the satisfaction of going on his show. That moron should not have any validation of his bullshit.

Why did he even go on the show? It gives FOX and Bill O. credibility. Bill should only be trivialized for the propagandist he and that network are. I was hoping Obama would go on the show and treat it like a comedy show. Treat it like the joke that it is. How could anyone expect this to be a beneficial exercise for the campaign? Why?

Barack should go on ALL the RW talking head shows and continue to do so from now until the election.

They've got a diehard viewer base. He's got to rebut McCain's lies on McCain's own turf and among McCain's own people.
