OK, you've just be selected to be guest host on MTP this Sunday
and, miraculously, Governor Palin has agreed to be a guest. What question do you ask her?

Some suggestions:

1. Can you name a single instance during your tenure as mayor of Wasilla or as Governor of Alaska when you made a decision involving foreign policy?

2. Have you ever met or even spoken to a leader of any foreign country? Have you ever spoken with or met any government official from Russia, a country that, according to your proponents, is "right next to Alaska"?

3. Do you support banning books from public libraries? If so, which ones?

4. Do you agree with John McCain's assessment of the situation on the Iraq/Pakistan border? (trick question)

Just for fun (because it's never going to happen-none of us will be picked to be the guest host of MTP and Sarah Palin is not going to be interviewed on MTP), how about some other suggestions?

1. What books have you read? What decade did the Civil War take place in?
Remember, the new host of "Meet the Press" is Tom Brokaw.

He won't ask any tough questions at all.

At least it won't be George Hannityophoulos.

3. I know there were many here who didn't like Tim Russert
but I miss him now; not that even he would get a chance to interview Palin, but I sure would have liked to see that happen.

4. Oh good Ol Uncle Tom
He claims he was a flaming hippie during the sixties (If he really had been, he would have known that for much of the country the sixties didn't filter in until the seventies.)

I would ask Palin, as an expert on Fundie Christianity beliefs, if she can address how it is so very important for everyone to believe the part of the Bible that says the Earth is some 6,000 years old, but not so important to pay attention to the section of the New Testament where Jesus says that for us as "Little Children, Love one another," and also this -- why don't fundies pay attention to the Golden Rule - as Jesus himself thought it was important: "Do unto your neighbor as you would have your neighbor do unto you."

2. Do you feel comfortable permitting local politicians - not librarians - ban books?

Alaska is the third largest recipient of US tax dollars, yet, as mayor, you left your city $20m in the red. The US has no such slush fund to raid, why should voters believe what you say about economic policies.

Alaska gets $1.82 for every $1 they send to Washington. That's $.82 extra from WAshington. New Jersey only gets back sixty five cents for every dollar it sends to Washington. Why should anyone in New Jersey vote for you or trust you on fiscal policy?

5. Be afraid.. be very afraid
It's a macabre point (redacted)- but a look at the actuarial tables insurance companies use to evaluate customers shows that it's not an irrelevant one. According to these statistics, there is a roughly 1 in 3 chance that a 72-year-old man will not reach the age of 80, which is how old McCain would be at the end of a second presidential term. And that doesn't factor in individual medical history, such as McCain's battles with potentially lethal skin cancer.
...

The odds of a 72-year-old man living four more years, or one full White House term, are better. But for a man who has lived 72 years and 67 days (McCain's age on Election Day this year), there is between a 14.2 and 15.1 percent chance of dying before Inauguration Day 2013, according to the Social Security Administration's 2004 actuarial tables and the authoritative 2001 mortality statistics assembled by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.

Going by the Social Security Administration's tables, that's nearly ten times the likelihood that a man aged 47 years and 92 days (Barack Obama's age on Election Day this year) will die before Jan. 20, 2013.

If not, will you be accepting a smaller salary as vice president, due to your gender?
