I miss Molly Ivins now more than ever.
Edited on Thu Sep-04-08 08:05 PM by Cyrano
Back in 1992, Pat Buchanan gave a speech at the Republican convention that was worthy of Hitler. And Molly nailed it on the head when she said: "It sounded better in the original German."

God, you've just got to love her.

What do you think she would have had to say about Palin's speech?

2. I keep thinking of Ann Richards, and you just know she'd mob the floor with Palin.
If anybody could verbally destroy that vile beast, Ann could've done it with one hand tied behind her back, and a smile on her face.

Just think what both Anne and Molly would be saying now.

7. The world is a poorer place without those two women!
I miss them, too. We could use a good evisceration of Palin right now.

9. As brilliant a writer as Molly was, I am not sure even she could
muster anything to say about the warmongering, racist hatefest that is the RNC. Some things just defy description or commentary.

11. Molly was never at a loss for words
In her book titled "Molly Ivins Can't Say That, Can She?" she had an article she had written about two Republicans in the Texas legislature.

They had just succeeded in passing a law outlawing sodomy and they congratulated each other by shaking hands.

Molly's take on this was printed in "Mother Jones" magazine which doesn't edit obscenity. She wrote: "... and in shaking hands, they broke the law they had just passed that a prick can't touch an asshole."

Only Molly could have sliced and diced these morons so thoroughly.
