John Kerry Should NOT "DUMB HIMSELF DOWN" For The Voters!
Sometimes when he's at a rally or doing a town hall meeting, John Kerry seems like he's trying to dumb himself down for the public. He tries to tell bland jokes or say incredibly "simplistic" things. And you know he's capable of so much more than that, so the dumbed down Kerry doesn't come off as authentic.

I don't know why this is, perhaps because he feels that something people apparently like about W is that he's simple and dumb? So he should try and do the same so people don't think he's some sophisticated new england liberal?

I just wish that Kerry would speak like we all know he can, and raise the bar instead of try and work at the same level as shrub.

I think voters would respect and like him more if he spoke how he truly thinks and says what he really feels however NOT "simplistic" it may sound. I think people would like to have a candidate who talked to them like they were adults instead of talking to them like they are children.

I don't know, maybe it's just me.

2. And conversely, he should avoid condescension.
Keep things easy to understand, but don't water down the ideas. Speak well, but don't talk down. There's a middle ground there, and I think Kerry can tread it with ease.

10. When hell freezes over
That said, I'd chug a beer with Kerry anyhow,
I also think this shit about Bush being a man of the people or one who can relate to the people is bs, he's a rich partican who got to where he was thanks to his daddy and thats only, what blue collar person can claim that and be in the position where Bush is now.

17. The Kennebunkport Kowboy? Naaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwww...
Why people believe that crap, and that Kerry can't relate (including some on this board) is way beyond my comprehension.

Perhaps you youngsters can explain it to me! :hi:

9. why not, hell that's what the so-called indepents like about bush
he simple like them. they are not interested in dealing with the facts. facts gets in the way of entertainment, why bother with stuff like facts when they could be watching football, american idol, paris hilton, or tbn.

hell that's why you have a president for right, so you don't have to deal with the facts.

11. Yeah but when W does it it's authentic.
He's an authentic idiot.

When Kerry does it, it sounds like an act because we know he's capable of so much more.

15. dumb as a fox
Bush is as dumb as a fox. Personally I never vote for someone because I like them, most of the people I like would make suck-**s leaders. I vote for who is going to do the better job.
