Statement of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton
Thursday, Sep 4, 2008

*

The two party conventions showcased vastly different directions for our country. Senator Obama and Senator Biden offered the new ideas and positive change America needs and deserves after eight years of failed Republican leadership. Senator McCain and Governor Palin do not.

After listening to all the speeches this week, I heard nothing that suggests the Republicans are ready to fix the economy for middle class families, provide quality affordable health care for all Americans, guarantee equal pay for equal work for women, restore our nation's leadership in a complex world or tackle the myriad of challenges our country faces. So, to slightly amend my comments from Denver: NO WAY, NO HOW, NO McCAIN-PALIN.

7. I understand why she's not being as forceful as she normally is...
but it would be nice to see her take Palin to town...Hillary Clinton style. :)

8. I'm sorry, but print statements are not going to work.
I'm not one of those crazies that thinks about all the Clinton soap opera stuff (2012 and all that crap)

But this clearly a moment for her.

If she does not appear on the Sunday talk shows, I am going to be pissed. There is not a lot of time to
counter the Palin Fabrication. She needs to speak up. Be Clear about what she believes in, and tell every
fucking reporter she can that Palin's nomination is a marketing tool/strategic ploy from a campaign
that claims to be Country First.

9. I think the reason why she's not taking her typical approach is because...

it would overshadow Obama/Biden and what they're trying to do.

I would love to see Hillary take this fight and it would be perfect if she were on the ticket. It's Biden's fight and he'll take Palin on when the time comes.

4. Opening Salvo....
She's going to crush McCain and laugh when she's Senate Majority Leader and he's sitting in Arizona wondering why he was so stupid.
