I understand how this convention has fired up the thug base--but I don't think it did anything to
win independents. I ain't seeing it. Any polls that come out next week are pure bullshit.

The McCain-Palin ticket is Bush/Cheney Part II.

What a hard turn to the right that the McCain campaign took.

3. I totally agree.
Although the repukes weren't entirely sold by McCain there was never any doubt that they wouldn't vote for him. Each side will get their base. It's all about the middle.
I think McCain blew it by this sharp turn to the right. We shall see.
I would've been more "worried" if he tried to appeal more to moderates and indys.

4. He would've had more a of a chance. Palin is appealing, but too far right.
if she were a centrist, she would've been a much better choice.

5. She only appeals to the base, imo.
I guess McCain was really worried that the base was going to abandon him.
