Sarah Palin and the GOP: the anti-JFK's
Edited on Thu Sep-04-08 11:58 PM by brentspeak
JFK, who encouraged community involvement and started the Peace Corps:

"In your hands, my fellow citizens, more than mine, will rest the final success or failure of our course. Since this country was founded, each generation of Americans has been summoned to give testimony to its national loyalty. The graves of young Americans who answered the call to service surround the globe. Now the trumpet summons us again - not as a call to bear arms, though arms we need; not as a call to battle, though embattled we are; but a call to bear the burden of a long twilight struggle, year in and year out, 'rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation', a struggle against the common enemies of man: tyranny, poverty, disease, and war itself...

"And so my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country."

..............................................................................................

Sarah Palin:

I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a community organizer, except that you have actual responsibilities...ha! ha! ha!"

1. Equating any Repube over the past 30 years

To John F. Kennedy is mere folly.

That quote of JFK has more style, substance, heart, emotion, credibility, leadership than the last 10 Republican conventions combined.

The Republicans are beneath ANYTHING President Kennedy said, stood for, or did and comparisons between the two give more credit to those who don't deserve it and diminish the brilliance of Kennedy.

Had Shrub or McCain been the President during the Cuban Missle Crisis we'd have written the epitaph on the human race long by now. Thanks to Kennedy, cooler heads prevailed and humanity lived on as we know it.

Sarah Palin's name mentioned in the same space as JFK's does, by simple proximity, inadvertently sully JFK.
