4. Dukakis is an amazingly brilliant and nice man, and so is Kitty.
I often feel awful for how he was turned into a caricature by both parties. Now, we understand that is the media and rethugs game, ridicule and marginalize people. He's a good guy. Met he and Kitty at an event once, and he is just brilliant, and she is gracious and funny as hell.

6. What we lost...
...when voters picked George Herbert-Herbert Bush over him twenty years ago is incalculable.

For all those who (rightly) laud the Clinton presidency -- a President Dukakis would have accomplished as much, without the triangulation (NAFTA, welfare "reform," DoMA) that marred Clinton's record.

The three most disastrous elections in modern history: 1972, 1988, 2004*. Let's make damn sure 2008 doesn't get added to that list!


*(2000 doesn't count, since we won the popular vote that time)
