McCain almost evokes sympathy, he's so bad at public speaking, while Palin reads words written by someone else very well. But I
found myself strongly disliking Palin, but just kind of pitying McCain. I think what gets me is the arrogance of this woman to be lecturing a candidate whose been out on the campaign trail for 19 months when she won't even agree to an interview where she can't read off a script. For those of us who cherish American history and what the presidency can be (FDR, JFK, etc), it trivializes it if all a person- man or woman - has to do is show up out of basically nowhere and read words on a teleprompter and suddenly be hailed as the potential leader of the free world. It's an insult to this country and the voting public. And for her to step right onto that stage with her smirk and snark makes me very angry. I want to see her go down- hard.

1. I had a big case of "Who do you think you are?"
with respect to Sarah Palin. I know who John McCain is. He is misguided and his policies would be wrong, but maybe it's the best his has. Palin strikes me as being very much about Palin--look at the way she ran in Wasilla for *mayor* or a small town on abortion and wedge issues as if it were national politics. Look at how she had to prove loyalty by making people resign, or just plain firing the police chief and librarian for not supporting her--what a bully!

She carried that same self-importance with her to the Governorship, and acted out her family drama in personnel decisions there. It's like it's just Sarah, Sarah, Sarah. Well, really? What about Wasilla, which she put $20 million in debt? What about disabled children, whose funding she slashed? What about sex education (she's against) and funding for teen mothers? What about her being no better than she ought to be, but arrogant about it?

McCain can't go on Larry King--maybe he was just too mad and keyed up about his speech this evening. But her? I think the media lock-down is because the McCampaign is still figuring out if she's media-ready.

Media-ready? What about White-House-Ready? What about "Ready on Day one?"

Oh no, asking her questions is out of bounds. How will she face Ahmedinejad or Kim Jong Il? Sexist.

Both gentlemen will tip their hats out of respect. (NOT!) Sheesh.

2. I find it hilarious when Rush calls her a "babe"--being that he
doesn't particularly care for boys or girls above the age of ten.

3. Well he picked her when he didn't have to, so I don't fee sorry for him one bit.
In a way, he's a traitor to this country. Why would he want to put us in peril like this?

That's what scary about him.
