Something I don't get about the current state of Alaska

Who is running it?? My local rag says Palin says she will not step down while she campaigns for McCain, even if she would our Lt Gov is running for congress himself. With the Russians breathing down our necks we should be terrified, right? WHO THE HELL IS PROTECTING US FROM THE RUSSIANS NOW??

Oh, no! They already were here and left! Not worth their time or aggravation. There is plenty of gold, oil and timber in their Eurasian territories before they need anything Alaska has.
