Barracuda... 3rd try for song for repukes, 3rd strike!
http://hollywoodinsider.ew.com/2008/09/heart-responds.html
This afternoon, Heart emailed out a statement regarding vice-presidential candidate Sarah "Barracuda" Palin's use of their similarly monikered song at the Republican National Convention: "The Republican campaign did not ask for permission to use the song, nor would they have been granted that permission," it read. "We have asked the Republican campaign publicly not to use our music. We hope our wishes will be honored."

But after McCain finished his speech accepting the GOP's presidential nomination tonight, Palin joined him on stage, and the song was used again: Heart's "Barracuda" played as balloons fell. With that elephant in the room, Heart's Nancy Wilson felt compelled to personally respond. "I think it's completely unfair to be so misrepresented," she said in a phone call to EW.com after the speech. "I feel completely f---ed over."

First song - http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2008/08/jackson-browne.html
Jackson Browne is suing John McCain for using the song "Running on Empty" in a campaign ad -- and the veteran rocker is also calling the candidate a great pretender when it comes to standing up for constitutional rights.

Second song - http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/08/29/van-halen-mad-at-mccain-o_n_122464.html
After John McCain used a Van Halen song during his big speech earlier today, the band wants to make to make one thing clear -- they're not running with McCain.

Van Halen management tells us the band had no idea McCain was planning on using "Right Now" during his big entrance in Ohio telling us, "Permission was not sought or granted nor would it have been given."

1. This is a radical idea for the MSM
how about asking McCain if he approves this illegal use and if so what is he going to do about it?

2. Why don't they just use Dueling Banjos from the movie Deliverance?
That should be the GOP's anthem.

3. You go, Nancy!!!!
Heart has always been one of my favorite bands, and I know they wouldn't approve of any GOPers using their stuff.

Cameron Crowe is the luckiest man alive.
