Community Organizers = Obama's Greatest Strength
It's no wonder that the GOP decided to mock community organizers: It's his greatest strength! Obama's background as a community organizer is what makes him a different kind of politician and what makes his campaign more like a movement than a presidential campaign. He has used community organizing techniques to bring more people into the process, thereby allowing him to push big-money interests out. He's raising money from lots of small donations; McCain isn't. He's not using 527's, McCain is.

Obama's campaign his about empowering people, listening to their concerns, and responding to their needs. McCain's is about empowering McCain and telling people what they need. Both campaigns are about change: one is top-down, the other is bottom-up.

Obama should use a slogan like:

If you want change in Washington, you need a community organizer to bring the people into the
process to fight the special interests.
