Unemployment at 6.1% and yet there was nary a peep about the economy
in all that "soaring rhetoric" at the GOP convention.

BTW, the Bush mouthpiece, I didn't recognize this third or fourth tier player, said on CNBC that the economy is "fundamentally sound" because of exports. But the rest of the world economies are also slowing down. How long do they think Exports will buoy the slumping economy if our so-called trading partners can't trade?

Look for the GOP to offer another round of tax cuts for the wealthy, including trying to eliminate any taxes on investment.

What the GOP economic platform really says to the American Worker is your earnings, your wages are of no consequence to the overall economy. Any Capital related income is far more important to the economy so we will treat that with much more favor. In fact Capital related income should be tax free. Just be lucky we pay workers at all. Wages are so last century.

It all boils down to this; a buck just is only a buck if you earn Capital income. If you work for a living, a buck is worth about .70 cents...

Peace out.

3. The real unemployment rate, including those of whose benefits long ago
ran out, is probably closer to 10-12%. In the government's world, if you are no longer collecting UE benefits, you no longer count as unemployed.

5. I kept wondering when they were going to talk about the economy...
Silly me!

Now, that's the elephant in the living room...

And the Republicans are hoping that we aren't noticing it.
