Pay No Attention to the Elephant Behind the Curtain!
Like the Great Oz, the Republican Party and John McCain want you to pay no attention to the elephant behind the curtain.

At their convention in Minneapolis this week they complained about high gas prices, high insurance costs, rising food costs and a bad economy and then promised us “change”.

What was ludicrous about their talking points was that they entirely failed to mention that all those problems are all THEIR fault.

It has been THEIR watch these last eight years and Republican President George W. Bush has been at the helm of the ship of state.

It’s been THEIR lack of corporate oversight, THEIR optional Iraq War, THEIR failure to adequately prepare for 9/11 or Katrina, THEIR unwillingness to protect the dollar, THEIR failure to protect the working man, and THEIR failure to wean America off of foreign oil that has led us to the brink of national ruin.

It’s their mess – they own it.

And John McCain?

He has been there in Washington D.C. all along during the last 8 years being part of the problem voting 95% with George W. Bush.

How can he now honestly claim to be part of the solution?

Karl Rove, Dick Cheney, George W. Bush, and John McCain apparently believe that Americans are simply not paying attention about how we got here and that they can “he said she said” their way out of the very mess that they themselves created by superficially adopting an Obama-like message of “change” at the very last moment and pretending like they had nothing to do with the mess they created.

In short, the Republicans think we Americans are stupid.

To quote another famous Republican, Ronald Reagan:

“Are you better off than you were four (or eight) years ago?”

I’m not.

In fact most Americans are not and the Republican Party is responsible.

They made this mess and now they want you to trust them to fix it.

Well they’ve had long enough – eight years – It’s time to pink slip them this election.

Vote Democrat. Vote Change. Vote Obama.
