WTF? msnbc just played the ENTIRE gramps & gidget campaign speech while only playing about 1 minute
of Obama.

And they spent the 15 minutes prior to the G & G stump speech talking about how there were 8000 people there.

omg - they are ignoring Obama....let alone Biden.

8. It's the beginning that should contain the new points and the new attacks.
THAT is evidently what corpmedia wanted to cover up.

3. LOL. I love the gramps and gidget name! I was calling her
"Gidget Goes to Washington" to my mom the other day! That's what she reminds me of!

6. I'd agree. The media is a known quantity. If he's being outplayed, he's being outplayed.

12. You missed my point. Corpmedia has a control over what audiences hear that no Democrat
can change. You want Obama to promise the corporate media everything their owners want so he can get the same favored treatment? THAT is how the GOP 'outplays' Dem nominees.

15. No, I disagree with your underlying point, and so agreed with your sarcastic one.
The media reports what it thinks will draw an audience. Obama outplayed Clinton in that regard, and has been doing a pretty good job of outplaying McCain. McCain is playing a better game right now. If Obama can't figure out how to draw the spotlight, then the problem is his.

The media sucks. But it sucks in understandable, well-established, and consistent ways. Part of the reason I supported Obama over Clinton was that he demonstrated an ability to harness the terrible media to his advantage, while Clinton couldn't figure out how to do anything but complain about it. I prefer my nominees to be smarter and more proactive than the average DUer.

17. Baloney - media knows what it will and will not cover. You want to claim that
Kerry attacking swifts and Bush viciously was not covered because it wasn't dramatic enough? No president had ever been challenged to debate their services, but, media COLLECTIVELY decided there was no story worth broadcasting and few even reported it happened...even though it was in front of an entire convention of FIREFIGHTERS in the first election after 9-11.

Draw the spotlight? The fascists OWN the spotlight, the cameras and the microphones. When they DECIDE it's time to control the narrative they do so.

10. Obama's problem is that he is actually talking and giving solutions
while Gramps and Gidget just attack and lie.

I'm completely convinced that the public is incapable of listening to an in-depth discussion.

5. In a way, this might help us. If the whole McCain strategy was based
on making the election a referendum on the "risky" Obama, they've now diverted attention away from him because of "risky" Caribou Barbie--sex sells and all that. But that won't necessarily do them any favors.

20. Yall still Dick Palin?
Sarah Falwell sucks and deserves no nickname other than to be hitched to Bush, Cheney, and the theocratic far right.

She wants to be Saracuda, she wants to be the pitbull in lipstick, she will even take being Gidget so she can wield it as being demeaned and as sexism.

What they don't want is the truth that she is the same shadow government, lie telling, political hatchetman with a new face.

Bush/Cheney the third term with new faces.

Same cynical worldview, same policies, same divisive rhetoric, same results...AT BEST!!!

19. It 's normal to cover the newly minted nominated pair on their first campaign stop together.
They did the same for Obama and Joe.
