9. Why Isn't Anyone Talking About Todd Palin????
I realize that Sarah has her issues, but why is everyone so quiet about her husband? The silence is deafening, and I'm not buying it. Just read this:

http://ww.andrewhalcro.com/shadow_governor

I'm glad the National Enquirer is on the job (never thought I'd ever say THAT), but perhaps they could use some help!

22. From several other posts I've read, this has more to do with the wife than with Scott Alan
I believe the wife had an affair and Palin had her lover fired. According to others who are more in the know than I, this has nothing to do with Palin's affair but more with her violation of ethical rules. Of course, it might have to do with both, depending upon what's in that divorce file. I'm curious though about the fact the divorce did not seem to be hotly contested. The actual marital dissolution hearing before the judge lasted only 20 minutes, including issues of child custody. It doesn't seem that any witnesses were called although depositions may have been submitted into evidence.

It goes along with the other firings/abuse of power, which is still bad.

23. Actually
I don't think folks are saying that she had an affair with him. The quote from NE is "the affair that almost ended her career." Reportedly one of her aides was Richter's wife... she had an affair, and Palin fired her. The accusation is Abuse of Power not adultery. I know the idea that she had an affair herself would be much juicier and more damaging with her base, but I don't think that's the case at all. Getting all het up about this is only going to lead to disappointment when the truth comes out... and her base will all go, "Is that all the fuss was about? Well, I'd fire her too!" or something like that.

Sorry to rain on your parade :(

27. No, that was one DUer's theory last night--the Enquirer article
actually contains an allegation of an affair for Palin herself, from one of her political or family "enemies".

Maybe they wanted to be able to say "look at the horrible evil evil press, and this baseless accusation they have made against this noble worthy woman"... and be "vindicated" when the story is "only" about someone else's affair?

And someone (friend or brother of someone who works for NE) called Ed Schultz Show yesterday and said it was true but the MSM wouldn't touch it.

34. No -- It Does Not
It says there was an affair and that the affair nearly ruined her career. The NE is benefitting from the ambiguous wording. There was an affair. Palin's career was nearly ruined becaused she abused her power to fire someone in retaliation for the affair.

46. Sigh. There is an excerpt in the article itself that mentions
an affair BETWEEN Todd's former associate and her--the allegation comes from an anonymous source who states that many in Alaska know all about it. This is ASIDE from the affair between two other people associated with the Palins.

39. yes they would
You can't make an adultery allegation without naming the person with whom adultery was committed. In some states not only do you have to name them but you also have to serve them with court papers so they can have a chance to clear their reputation.

50. Whoa - I had no idea.
But don't you think that if she had been named, and the records were heretofore public, it would be general knowledge in their area? And there have been plenty of disparaging articles about Palin from those who know her in Alaska, and I'd think it would have been mentioned.

I'm just trying to not get my hopes up. :7

52. You would think so, but
who would pore over obscure divorce records in a case involving someone they never heard of before? The case involved Palin's business partner, not Palin. But since the court denied the motion to make the case secret I would think that by now any such information would have already hit the presses.
