is naming your business "Redneck." At least in my neck of the woods it is, no pun intended. (BTW, we have only her word that it was to be a marketing firm. Her comment about the license made no sense. Marketing requires no license.) And that was Sarcastic Rookie Speech Gate, not Sarcastic Rookie Gate. A number of people, including Rachael Maddow, have commented that Palin's Convention speech was inappropriately sarcastic.

BTW, I did not sense that the spirit of this thread was Term Paper Time.

City librarian Mary Ellen Emmons will stay, but Police Chief Irl Stambaugh is on his own, Wasilla Mayor Sarah Palin announced Friday. The decision came one day after letters signed by Palin were dropped on Stambaugh's and Emmon's desks, telling them their jobs were over as of Feb. 13

Both Stambaugh and Emmons publicly supported Palin's opponent, long-time mayor John Stein during the campaign last fall. When she was elected, Palin questioned their loyalty and initially asked for their resignations. But Stambaugh said he thought any questions had been resolved.

54. The thing about Miss Congeniality seems to be focused on an inconsistency on Wikipedia.

ALASKA PIPELINE: Amy Gwin, 43, of University City, grew up in Alaska and competed in the Miss Wasilla, Alaska, competition in 1984 against GOP vice presidential choice Sarah Palin. Gwin said Friday that she won the Miss Congeniality award in the competition, although Palin's Wikipedia entry says she won the contest — and the Miss Congeniality award.
