..judging by that poll. Interesting.

I wonder sometimes if that is true, or perhaps human nature. We seem to have a war mongering
egotistical majority of the population right now. Too many commentators like Hannity and O Reilly and nasty ass Republicans me thinks.

4. How Is It Backfiring On Dems? We Did Not Pick Her. Also, Surprised?
She's Miss congeniality afterall. The question is whether there will be coverage or questions on her very extreme views. There is a reason why she is being sequestered.

5. Have to disagree
She is only popular because people don't know her yet.

We can either let the GOP spin machine define her to the public or we push for the truth and define her to the public.

Obama and Biden cannot do that, but we can and should.

of women. And 62% of men. A 10% gap. Anyone want to take a crack at why?

Edited to add: Any poll with a 4.5% moe is worth a bucket of spit.

8. She has nowhere to go but down
People don't know who she is and haven't had time to form a negative opinion of her. Without information, people are much more likely to tell a pollster "she seems fine" than "she seems awful."

That's why they're trying to keep her away from the media.

Being that nobody knows ANYTHING about her, they want to know who the heck she is.

People gather for a car crash, too. You could say that 9-11 was more popular than Sarah Palin. Let's have a national disaster run for Veep! It was popular!

Do not show pity or remorse or fear, and absolutely do not stop, until her political career is dead.

the majority of young people won't either

23. what is treacherous?
Of course Palin is more recognized (it doesn't say more popular) than Obama, the country hasn't seen a Republican that didn't look grim and dead in decades. The GOP is going to make sure the public doesn't see too much of her and she is going back to Alaska for a week or ten days for family affairs and to clean up some of the scandals dogging her, if she can. Alaska is throwing out the scandals like snowballs at this point. Don't they love her? This has been the RNC Convention (The Guardian in the UK described it as "The Land of the Living Dead") The American public suffers from short attention spans, they can go from devestating tragic hurricanes to Paris Hilton in the blink of an eye and Michael Phelps and Beijing is but a distant memory, they go from Obama to Palin equally fast. There was a similar article when it was Obama and Clinton. The energy will shift several times before the election.

Give her another few weeks and see if the questions are "do they know her" and then "do they like her" Her addition to the ticket may be "treacherous" for the Dems but buckle under isn't the answer.

24. So. Only a 6% gain since her speech.
I am not worried about any of this backfiring. Like other poster said we had no choice but to go after her, because obviously the GOP are going to be careful about how much scrutiny is brought to bear. The republicans are going to try and let her get away with talking about her experiences as mayor, governor, hockey mom, pta member, as they hope that most people will just smile and eat it up like oatmeal. It's my opinion that all these investigations against Palin, are going to eventually catch up with her. And if she continue to give puff speech after puff speech, the only people this is going to backfire on are the republicans.
