And they talked about Hillarys tone of voice.
I can't believe how many people in the MSM talked about the tone and the sound of Hillarys voice. Not a word about Star Sarah though is there? I can't believe no one has said anything.

I swear, if I have to listen to that nasal, sarcastic voice one more time I'm going to go nuts. The sound of her voice is one of the worst sounds I've ever heard.

How does anyone listen to that? It's like Gladys Kravits meets Mini-fucking-Mouse.

It's killing me, please make her stop, just make her stop.

MY EARS ARE BLEEDING.

I haven't found it in me to listen to her all the way through yet and doubt I ever will. Thank god for the mute button!

about Dubya's voice, but suddenly it's not okay to complain about Sarah Palin's voice.

No one talks about McCain's nasally voice or Obama's constant "umming"
No one talks about Edwards's syruppy throaty drawl or Giuliani's whiny pervert-on-the-subway pinchy whine.

But when a woman is strong like Clinton or Palin, then her voice is just so damn naggy and nasal. You know, because "She's such a bitch".

15. There has been much criticism here of Obama's "ummmm."
Coming mostly from Clinton supporters, but it did happen quite a bit here.

I don't think the OP's comment is worthy of a cry of sexism, in fact it's rather annoying that that canard keeps rearing its ugly head. It dilutes the reality of that most grievous charge.

20. Having a nasally voice is not a "most grievous charge". It's flummery.
They are so corrupt on so many counts and so wrong on so many issues, I have to wonder why we keep coming back to the distraction issues that only make Dems sound snarky. You don't win votes or motivate volunteers griping about somebody's voice quality. You only alienate millions of swing voters from southern Minnesota and the Dakotas who also talk with that invisible clothespin on their midwestern snouts.

Edited on Fri Sep-05-08 05:42 PM by AtomicKitten
Nobody is arguing that the quality of her voice is important; it is merely observational. This is a message board where all kinds of things are discussed.

I just don't agree that commenting on her voice is sexist. In fact, I think McBush sounds like a whiny biotch too.

Some otherwise sound and responsible men seem to lose their intellectual abilities when confronted with a woman like her. It is very discouraging, not only from the standpoint of intellectual breakdown but also from the standpoint of taste.

It does provide a stark contrast with Obama-Biden's upbeat take on things.

19. To my ears, two sounds are coming out at the same time
I know this might sound weird, but...

I hear the fingernails-on-chalkboard sound that everyone complains about, but that's not as bad as the lower pitch that I can hear simultaneously. That lower pitch literally gives me a headache, and has every time I've heard her speak for more than a few minutes. (It's a thicker, duller noise, and it produces the kind of headache you might experience at the onset of the flu. I'm not kidding about any of this.)

21. Hillary's voice is golden compared to Palin's. And let's face it,
Hillary was on the campaign trail for so long that she got hoarse. At times she had to speak more loudly just because the softer register wasn't working anymore. Palin's voice is just godawful screechy to begin with.

Hillary never screeched. She might have hollered a bit when she had to but she NEVER screeched.

And I am STILL just SO offended that these GOP creeps want to compare Palin to Hillary.

44. How do you get sexism from not liking someone's voice?
That's just running around with a chip on your shoulder.

I despise listening to both George W. McCain and John W. Bush. Hell, I don't overly like Kucnich's voice and I really like him.

This is equal to a black person going ballistic over being offered a slice of watermelon as it's being sliced up. It's really being that sensitive.

Dick Palin's voice is grating and I don't see how anyone can tolerate to listen to her.
