1. I don't have to look, I think I can repeat it verbatim
She's reading from notebook paper, right? :eyes:

3. She can't say a single word without reading it off the paper. And McCain looks
as if he's about to throw up whatever he just ate. It's really pretty funny and pathetic at the same time.

16. How could she possibly debate anyone, let alone Biden?
They'll probably write "9/11" on one of her palms and "P.O.W." on the other. Or she would have to be wired.

17. I watched one of her Alaska gubernatorial debates
and she was fairly good, i.e. she can spin fairly well. She seemed knowledgeable on issues about Alaskan life, but I doubt that the debate will be about moose hunting. She struck me as someone who would be quick to play the victim card and perhaps be good at it, but I think that would backfire on her in the V.P. debate since she is avoiding the media.

19. I'm sure if she agrees to the debate,
They will arm her with 6 or 7 well-written punch lines, and she'll make sure to get those out (to thunderous applause and yelling from the Rs in the audience). The rest will be useless filler. The next day, those 6 or 7 punch lines will be repeated as the "highlights" of the debate and Palin will be proclaimed the "winner" based on her supposed "charm" and "appeal" plus those punch lines (which the press will have received in advance of the debate). It won't matter that Biden ran in circles around her.

21. On another point, I honestly don't think this is the horse race that the meeting is claiming
Pretty much all of the TV pundits are talking about Palin's appeal and how it's now a real race since she's McCain's running mate. They have yet to show any polls to support this. They hypothetically suggest that Palin can reach out to blue collar voters in states like PA, MI, and OH with no evidence of that whatsoever. I wouldn't be surprised if this race is close to finished by the time the V.P. debate comes around.

24. The results of a divided nation
Plus the media's love of a horse race. The Iraq War is a great example. The media doesn't really cover the negatives anymore. If all of the funerals were shown on TV this race would be a landslide easily. The media has been playing the talking point that not only did the surge "work", but that it's more important than the fact that we went to war in the first place. Also, many voters vote based on social issues, and I views on these issues don't change very rapidly.

These tapes are going to be so precious to look back at after they are crushed.

She'll skip out on the debate, and be adored for "putting family ahead of politics."

9. My Take
It's just not funny.

We need to take this seriously.

What we think is funny, some people are endeared to it like Bush.

Bush stopped being funny to me once he started doing very serious things, while still butchering the English language.

18. That's the only place I could find a link to the video that worked.
All the others I tried gave very jittery video that started and stopped repeatedly. You don't have to read the article of course.
