In this thread we talk about what we are doing or can be done for the 2008 election.

Around election time I like to start these threads to give people an idea of what sort of opportunities there are to volunteer for the Democrats as the election gets closer. Let us know what you are doing, or if you know of something to do in a particular area of the country that would help out!

In Illinois, there are some opportunities listed on Illinois Dem Net: http://www.illinoisdemnet.com

There is even a meeting of the Saloon Democrats of Chicago where people get together to share drinks and discuss politics!

I need to undergo some training first.

One of my friends is already doing data entry for the local Obama effort.

I'm debating swing state work (I did that in 2004).

On top of that, I'm:

1. Writing letters to the editor.
2. Posting in the commentary section on news websites.
3. Talking to other voters.
4. Forwarding articles.
5. Giving out campaign buttons.
