CNN just showed Palin's embarrassing clips...(Rick Sanchez)
Edited on Sun Sep-07-08 01:35 AM by Waiting For Everyman
The Sportscaster clip

The "I don't know what the VP does" clip

Some fact-checking on her truth-stretching and credit-taking

Mention of the ethics investigation and babygate

And also asked why McCain didn't get a bigger bounce from her?

_________
It went by fast, so I can't elaborate more, but it was pretty cool.

3. Palin's popularity is a double-edged sword
The media targeted Obama so much because he was more interesting than McCain. Now Palin is here and they have a new target. The denial of access only makes it worse.

7. Hiding from the press is going to do them in.
This is really good for us that she is in hiding. :hide:
The stuff that's already there is enough!

I'm delighted they are trying the Bush regime shuffle of hide and lie.

8. The one about her not knowing what VP does is classic.
It doesn't make her look particularly bright. How on Earth can McCain and Co argue she is ready to be a VP (and potentially president), if just a short time ago she had no clue as to what it is the VP does?

12. Most governors probably don't know that.
I'm against Palin for many reasons (she's nasty, dishonest), but that video isn't one of them.

9. Regarding the I-don't-know-what-a-VP-does video...
...if Obama had chosen a Democratic governor, and there was a similar clip of him saying that he doesn't know what the daily job of VP is, I wouldn't hold it against him.

26. Sadly...
Edited on Sun Sep-07-08 04:38 AM by regnaD kciN
...I'll bet there are a lot of Americans whose reply would be "Well, I'm not dumb, and I don't know what the Vice-President is supposed to do all day. Go, Sarah!"

Fortunately, almost all of them were going to vote Republican anyway.

(Although you could probably expect the Republicans to spin it as "Democrats look down on people like you, people who don't automatically know what the Vice-President does!!!" :eyes: )

15. Even I know what the VP's primary job is, and I'm a cat veterinarian.
Tie-breaking in the Senate is a trivial, infrequent task. Ceremonial duties are just that. The REAL job, and it is at least full-time, is to be UNDERSTUDY TO THE PRESIDENT, so that if anything happens, you can step right into those shoes without breaking stride.

16. Sarah Palin says in the video that she doesn't know what....
...the VP does each day. "Understudy to the President" is general. She meant specifically.

27. Well, Here's what I would do: read up on every aspect of national and foreign
policy I could get my hands on, particularly as they pertained to current events. I would attend every meeting the President would let me attend. I would have policy experts tutor me in any areas I felt I was weak in.

I would NOT be participating in canned hunts and shooting friends in the face, that'a for sure.

21. gawd ,
This is something that should have been learned in a CIVICS class, or at the very least by paying attention! Of course, Cheney has been the shadow CIC, and probably the first ever.

23. Would that make a great video, or what?
After you brought this up, someone else somewhere mentioned the Church Lady, and I got this mental image of a Palin dancing baby doing the Church Lady's superiority dance. I don't know how to make a video, but it looks pretty funny in my minds' eye.

Comedians must be very happy about her.
