Has Rove won?
Edited on Sun Sep-07-08 09:59 AM by AllyCat
Seriously. I've been away from this site for a few days and returned to find out what Obama has been up to while I was gone. But instead, the top "greatest" threads are all about Palin. Nearly every post has something about her. We are a liberal blog and we are all talking about this nasty person all the time.

We need to get off the stuff that is wrong with her and focus on what is right with Obama/Biden.

2. We've had a lot of trolls trying to put her name out there.
And now we have another OP with her name. :banghead:

I know yours had a higher purpose, though.

6. Palin could actually be the choice that has suck McCain
Edited on Sun Sep-07-08 10:04 AM by DontTreadOnMe
edit title for spelling... lol "sunk McCain"

There have been many pointing out that the Dems are putting to much attention on Barbie -- but in reality this could be the icing on the cake. This morning, Chris Wallace interviewed Rick Davis (McCain campaign manager) about the fact that Barbie has not been avaialable to the press -- when even by "conservative analysis, McCain looks behind by at least 100 Electoral Votes"... and paraphrasing, that 100 points can be from several different variations. Chris Wallace then asked if Palin could help make up that difference by appearring in front of the press... with Davis replying that "they run the campaign, not the media".

Folks... she is not ready. She is still rehearsing. The McCain campaign knows she will blow it if she appears in front of the press. The are coaching her as we speak. But in the end, she will never be ready.

She is a spokesmodel.

The McCain campaign wll blame the media for not having "deference"... and the rest of the country will be laughing.

7. Our fellow Democrats have been deranged by Palin ...
They've sunk into the mud of rumor-mongering, and have been basically driven into a frenzy by this woman. The left doesn't understand the effect that this is having - the GOP is now rallying around her as a martyr case, as the attacks seem to justify every (false) claim they've made about the bias of the liberal media, and because she shares their (outmoded) values.

And the Democrats just can't seem to stop themselves, and it's killing Obama in the polls. A good, detached explanation of this derangement http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2008/sep/07/uselections2008.republicans2008"> is here.

9. If Rove/McCain/Whoever had a good choice for their veep nom,
they would have made it.

They had to go with someone who would raise some money and mobilize the nutbag base. They took Palin, a cynical choice by almost any standard, and now they have to babysit her for two months so she doesn't wreck the campaign outright.

She doesn't help the Pukes among anyone they didn't likely already have in their camp and independents are not likely to be swayed by her moose hunting prowess.

IMO she doesn't flip any Kerry states to red and she doesn't help in states that Obama has turned from red to purple.

She is the wildest of wild cards and the Uh-Oh quotient for Palin is sky-high. Let's see how thoughtful a public servant she sounds in the veep debate.

And who knows -- one of these days she might even give a press conference.

10. No. We have to drive up our positives AND drive up their negatives.
This pollyannish stuff isn't going to cut it. Ask Dukakis and Kerry.

We have to punch them in the mouth, just like Joe Biden's mom told him.

12. ..it will die down after this weekend news cycle....
..but a lot negative stuff about her is going to hit the LSM (Lame Stream Media). I think the reason there was so much talk about her , is because the DEMS couldn't believe what a horrible low-down campaign trick her nomination was. Just when you thought the Repukes couldn't go any lower... <jaw drops open>
