Who's Doing the VP Debate. Is it Charlie? That could explain a lot..
I thought the 3 presidential debates were: Brokaw, Shieffer and Eiffle. That would leave out ABC right? So I'm thinking maybe Charlie has the VP one. Anyway, if that's so can you see why ABC and Charlie is selected for the first interview? He gets the prize the journalists are all after and all he has to do is sell her in the debates and destroy Biden the way he went after Obama. Any info?...'cause if this is so, it stinks.

5. I thought she was listed as one of the 3 presidential
I thought at the time it ran through my head that they had passed over Charlie...who could blame them. Anyway, I hope it isn't him on the VP. Of course, the McCain campaign could be saying, "you get the interview if you pick up where you left off the last time"! You can bet some deal has been made.

6. Great--I'm so happy it's Gwen for 3 reasons:
1. She won't let Palin do the interrupting, rude mouthy crap she does.
2. She will have very serious issues and not gotcha crap.
3. Palin can't play "hurt little girl" if Gwen is basically telling her to play by the rules, or answer the question which she could if it was 2 men and little old her.

12. You must not watch PBS. Gwen Ifill is the moderator of "Washington Week", and often subs
for Jim Lehrer on the Lehrer NewsHour. She also moderated at least one of the Presidential debates in 2004 -- might have been the Veep debate, I don't remember for sure.

She also shows up every once in awhile as part of the "Pundit Panel" on one or more of the Sunday network political shows.

She strikes me as being mostly one of the media "Kool Kids", though far less obnoxious than most of them. She's not big on "gotcha" crap, but she's also not big on probing, substative type of questions.

Personally, I'm almost always disappointed in her -- she really seems to just skate along the surface of issues, and seems to be just fine with propping up the conventional wisdom and the status quo.

I would say she also takes great pains not to appear partisan, but since she's not into challenging the prevailing narrative, she ends up being somewhat of a partisan against the progressive viewpoint by default.

I'm sure others might have a completely different take on her, however.
