Whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad.

Euripides (484 BC - 406 BC)

For all the cleverness of McCains strategists over the last week, I still sense an omen of doom.
There is just something crazy about gambling the future security of the nation on a novice political operator with little relevant experience.

I suspect they are now intoxicated by the undeserved windfall results from their gamble.

But, the Democratic ticket is now fundamentally stronger than the Republican ticket: The top of the Repub ticket a 72 year old cancer survivor and the bottom under-qualified and under investigation.

The Republicans have the public opinion surge that was expected from the dramatic novelty and transformative logic of the Palin choice.

But Obama’s team is still well positioned in two ways:
1. Some republicans leaders such as Powell and Hagel may be sufficiently appalled at the dangerous Palin choice to now come out and endorse the Democratic Ticket
2. A good part of the MSM apparatus is now obliged to pursue investigations to dig-up the facts as to the logic or illogic or McCains unexpected decision. There is a good chance Palin will be exposed.

McCain decided to go gambling. But at any moment his house of cards could come crashing down.

3. As I said in another thread:
McCain's ratings went up ONLY after he introduced an unknown gimmick to the ticket. How sad of a reflection is that on his standing within his own party?

Take a moment to realize we are dealing with the "post-rational" voter (as Rachel would say) as his base. A lot of RW nut-cases who were going to stay home may now come out to put their children's future in the hands of a half-term Governor. A responsibility they weren't going to give John McCain, a 26-year senator and ex-POW.

Thinking people know what's up; and that includes Democrats, Independents and Republicans. This isn't a movie of the week, it's the future of the country we're talking about. I still have faith we will turn out millions more voters -- because this country is too important to too many people to leave it in the hands of a a small town mayor from Moosepoo, Alaska.

6. Keep The Voters Moral Up
Too much is at stake for the Dems to loose this Election... Old McSame age & 4 bouts of cancer plus his refusal to publicly release his medical records should make you worry. Palin is a complete novice and unknown to the World stage. America's power is waning, our influence and prestige in foreign affairs has taken nose dive.

Machiavelli or Sun Tzu may have handled this election battle in a different way. But Obama is right...people are tired of this BS. Lets see if they really honestly want a change. Recharge their batteries... build them up... slow and steady. motivate them. and let them loose on election day.

November 4th can't come soon enough.
