What righties don't get

Some of us don't want to see a candidate ascend to the White House on a campaign built on slander, smears, and lies. The integrity of our republic means more than winning. And that is one reason -- the main reason -- why we want McCain to lose.

Yes, I think Obama will be a great president. And I think his optimism is far better for America than the cynicism of McCain or the nutty mocking tone of Angry Sarah Palin. But that's only half of it.

When I see the quality of our republic run down in the name of winning an election, I get angry about that. I was raised to believe in America and what it was founded to represent. And I want to see it preserved. If that makes me "un-American," then, damn it, that is what I am.

Ridicule me if you must. That is what you people do. But I know what my motives are. And I know what your are.

I am on the side of the optimistic, forward-looking ideals that made America great. You are on the side of "showing the Democrats who is boss." Which is better for the future of this great republic?

1. Great post! Those nutballs deserved it, too.
Their cynicism and lack of true principles is what is "un-American."

3. We have to win this
But, for the first time, I am worried that we might now. And it makes me worried about the future of this country.
