Obama and Dean in Mets Stadium Tuesday...Biden in Missouri.
Edited on Sun Sep-07-08 11:35 PM by madfloridian
ON EDIT: I AM CATCHING HELL FOR QUOTING THE ARTICLE...a couple of kind folks said it is Shea Stadium.

Frankly I don't give a damn as I live in Florida and they won't let Dean come here. :eyes:

Missouri is getting a lot of attention this week from the campaign.

Obama's new book is out next week as well.

TUESDAY, SEP. 9, 2008

-- Obama holds fund-raising event with former Gov. Howard Dean at Mets Stadium in New York

-- Sen. Barack Obama's policy book, Change We Can Believe In: Barack Obama's Plan to Renew America's Promise, is released. According to Obama's Web site:

In these pages you will find bold and specific ideas about how to fix our ailing economy and strengthen the middle class, make health care affordable for all, achieve energy independence, and keep America safe in a dangerous world. Change We Can Believe In asks you not just to believe in Barack Obama’s ability to bring change to Washington, it asks you to believe in yours.

Joe Biden will be in Columbia, Missouri on Tuesday, the 9th. Dean was just there this last Saturday and had a very warm welcome.

VP candidate Biden speaks Tuesday

Elinor Barrett, 55, said she was encouraged to see so many women lined up for tickets to the speech.

"I'm a woman who is not voting for Sarah," she said, referring to Republican presidential nominee John McCain's running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. "I think the Republicans should not assume that women are going to vote for Sarah just because she's a woman."

Rebecca Martinez, 41, said she went to see Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean on Saturday and is excited to see Biden.

"I'd like to hear him refute some of the comments that were made about community organizers (during the Republican National Convention)," she said. "Wasn't the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. a community organizer, and didn't he change this country?"

Last week Biden toured Florida, got great local coverage, had an excellent reception.

Still looking for coverage on Lincoln Chafee's campaigning in Florida for Obama

Guess the media is not too anxious to cover that.

1. The Mets play at Shea Stadium until the end of the season.
Then they play at Citi Field.

18. They should send everyone to Missouri this week
It is the 100th anniversary of the School of Journalism and there are a ton of journalism alumni who will be celebrating in Columbia from Tuesday to Friday. There's a dedication of a new journalism institute on Friday and, before that, lots of meetings on politics, journalism, etc. I saw one of Hillary's staffers on the list of people who are in attendance.

I wish I was flying into town earlier on Tuesday so I could catch Biden. It would be fun to see him in Missouri. I hope he's staying in Columbia for an extra day and will pop up as a last-minute speaker at the centennial event.
