8. So do I
PTSD is a disorder, a mental injury, which messes with your perception of reality. PTSD sufferers often have a hot, hair-trigger temper, especially when someone brings up a subject which resembles a past emotional trauma. Some of the symptoms of this particular mental injury include: flashbacks, when the person relives the event which wounded his or her mind (they actually forget about the here and now and literally live in the past); nightmares; trouble sleeping (need sleeping pills to get shuteye); avoidance of anything that remotely resembles the past traumatic event; and emotional instability, among others. Left untreated, the disorder affects a person's rational thinking; they use their wounded emotions instead of their rational minds to make decisions.

So, McLame, due to his apparently untreated (or inadequately treated) PTSD, is not psychologically fit to serve in the allegedly most powerful office on Earth.

2. Considering he has said he does, yes.

ETA: It's in his biography that the sound of jangling keys reminds him of his captors and sets his PTSD off.

9. Barack Obama ought to jangle a set of keys during the debates
That'll set off his raging temper. BTA, repukes will see his hotheadedness as strength, they're so twisted.

4. I honestly don't see how anyone could not be adversely affected by
being in a war, much less being a prisoner. So, yes.

It's hard to feel sympathy for him, though, because he's such an asshole.

5. After 40 years, I doubt it qualifies as PTSD. By now, everything has
morphed together. At this point, I think the diagnosis would be old fashioned senility/dementia. He's non compos mentis ("composted").

11. Unhealed PTSD...
You either process the trauma and walk through the pain--or you continue your life
with the trauma still inside your head--effectively imprisoning you.

I have PTSD, due to childhood stuff. I don't take it lightly when I hear that McCain
has anger issues and rage that seems to be close to the surface for him. I remember
what repressed rage feels like. It took me months of intense therapy to process it.
It's very powerful, and until you let it go--you're ruled by your past.

The man is an emotional disaster area for so many reasons.

The fact that he wants more and more war--when his initial trauma is war-centered--should
scare the living shit out of everyone in this country.

12. Barbara Boxer was talking about McCain's temper
this afternoon and Wolfie's show. She didn't say PDST, but, I think, she was alluding to it.

Hutchinson: And, Barbara, you know how well he works across the aisle with the people in the Democratic Party to effect real change and a real -- he can really make a difference.

BOXER: Well, I can speak to that. I've seen John work with others. I've seen him get very angry and hostile towards others. So I think his temperament doesn't quite match what you're saying . . .

And:

Hutchinson: Barbara, who doesn't have a temper in the United States Senate?

It's just ridiculous to say he doesn't have the temperament. I mean, everybody gets upset at some point, but...

BOXER: I don't agree with Kay Bailey that everybody loses their temper like that. And I think we've all seen it happen. It's not rational when it happens . . .

14. Regardless of the reason/exact diagnosis, he is an intemperate man, not suited to dealing with heads
of state or having his finger on the button. Stick with that. We are not doctors, but we all heard him sing "Bomb, bomb, bomb Iran" while laughing. Now, that's just bizarre. Don't get bogged down in details that people can dispute and PTSD may only get him more sympathy for being a POW.

BTW, his wiki at one point said he had a bad temper, even as a young child. I don't know who besides his mom or him could have put that comment into his wiki, but it shows that the source of his temper is irrelevant. Point is, however he got it, he seems to have a bad one that he does not always control. That's enough.

15. Have long thought so. YES.
Even after all this time one can still have PTSD. My ex has it from his chopper being shot down in Vietnam and he was not captured. It has been only recently diagnosed. So, YES.
